It really was easy to make. Ill be able to use it for anything. Heat up a pot on the jet boil and dump it in with more water, hot shower.

Plus lots of people with GFC pick up iKamper ladders as the foot steps are angled to be easier on bare feet.

    Thanks for the advice!

Perfect, second referral for Deaver Stage 2.

This may be a dumb question, but this is my first time ever trying to plan an upgrade/modification. I hope to start slow and not go crazy right away, but I am getting the camper installed within a few months of owning the truck, so I'd love to solve for bed sag.

    So my question is:

What are the limits of my stock TRD Off Road suspension? If I replace the leaf pack, can I leave the Bilstein rear shocks?
Can I leave my bilstein front shocks since the add a leafs added lift will probably sag under the Super Pacific build out (this buildout will not be all the bells and whistles, but general stuff water/bench/camping gear/fridge)?

I figured I would add bed stiffeners, add a whole new heavy duty leaf pack, and maybe upgrade tires to a higher load tire but keeping them the same size as stock, or as big as I can get without too much modification.

I think you'd be fine with an add a leaf and the stock shocks since you aren't really adding droop (down travel). A spacer lift that a lot of people use for rear lifts puts the axle further from the frame, which changes the shock travel downward and does require a longer travel shock (even though you lose travel at the top end). Replacing the entire leaf pack would require a longer travel shock since those replacement packs typically add travel.

The front shocks can definitely stay since you aren't doing anything there, almost all of the weight of the camper is over the rear axle.

I melted the plastic shrouds on my stock TRD Bilsteins after many off-road trips. They'llbe ok but eventually you will replace them.

Got a couple awning mounts for sale if anyone is interested, came off #12. Don't have the budget to get back into another SP so I'll pass them along. They held up my batwing 270 just great

Oouff. $175 for a jerry can and a 12v water pump. Anybody know where you can just get the 12v pump and make your own? I'm asking because what I want is one of those square 5 gal containers as it would fit neatly in my bed ahead of the wheel well. Jerry can would be too tall and would need to be strapped. Nicely done though. Just expensive.

This is the pump I've been using https://smile.amazon.com/HiLetgo-Wa...FT6y8&pd_rd_i=B01MRR4HGK&ref_=pd_bap_d_rp_1_t

Works well enough. There is also a more expensive german made one, but I figured I'd try the cheaper option first. I have a home made system with a jerry can, and added a second pump to an aquatainer cube with a simple 3/8" tube. I fill a 1 gallon jug from the aquatainer for general water needs during the day.

Anyone else having issues with the strut pin hitting the bottom when trying to close the top?
I have measured the top and bottoms of struts so they are true on both sides. Didn’t fix the problem.
I could file the ends of the pins down on both sides to make it close easier.

when I do get the top to close it looks like I have a bow in the middle
Something has moved after 3 camping trips and I can’t figure what’s out of alignment

Same happened to me. After talking with Randy at SP.. To fix the mounts, you need to grab a 2x4 or anything flat and solid that you can place on the face of the pin, and then tap it back straight. a few whacks with a mallet will do the trick. The camper will fall back into place once you have it clearance'd enough.. if not, repeat. To stop it from happening again in the future, you need to really make sure you are fully deflating the Exped and perhaps, remove some of your bedding to allow it to close easier with less materials (bedding) inside pushing out into those mounts and forcing them outwards. I literally just went through all of this the last couple weeks. did my measurements, etc. Everything is there just like yours. It's just from the stress/pressure of whatever materials you're using being squeezed out flat, outward, and putting pressure on those mounts.

I re-did all our bedding.. ditched our 2 person sleeping bag, and did a combo of bed sheets and blankets. now it falls into place and latches easily, this is also after I squeeze out as much air as possible. I fold it in half long ways and lay on it, and then roll up a 1/3 of one end to really get the last nit out. then place everything back flat. The sheets stay in place since they are fitted/tucked in.
