Another question on this radio. Does the mic also have a speaker? I dont want to end up burying in the center console and not be able to hear it. Probably should have asked before I ordered it lol

It does have a speaker in the hand set and it's quiet loud. I think there is a port for external speaker also, but don't remember 100%

You can also use hand signals. Flipping the bird is a popular one

I saw that video this morning also. I like mine, the detachable face and dual channel monitoring were the selling points for me.

After a week of almost starting my hidden install, finally got mine done yesterday too!! Youtube is a blessing and a curse with all these ideas lol.

Waiting on my call sign, sounds like I should get it pretty soon from what you guys say. Transmit and receive to a cheap handheld on the FRS frequencies was solid copy to a mile. Started breaking up at 1.3 miles in a suburban area.

Also need to figure out how to make use of repeaters. Sounds pretty neat. I was hearing guys in central indiana!

Tried to figure out my cb whale call situation. Thought I noticed some arcing on the 12 volt adapter, so I replaced it. Nope. Still get wailing 50 percent of the time. Going to take the mic and case apart to see if I see any weirdness.

Looks great! You should get more range outside of the FRS channels, those are limited to 2 watt. For repeaters go to https://mygmrs.com/ for a list and map.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
Seriously considering buying a Baofeng UV-9G handheld. Reviews seem to be good for an under $50 radio.

I've only seen good reviews on that radio also. For the price if it ends up sucking you're not out much.
