Looking to replace my key fobs as the plastic loop for the key ring is wearing out. One has already broken off.

Had the alarm system installed around 2018. Said MESA on the box and key fob. The key fob looks exactly like one from Avital.

MESA Model number is 7143M. Avital model is 7143L Anybody know if these will work?

In programming the new fobs it mentions using the valet button. I don't have one but it seems to be an easy install of a monetary switch. I can do that.

I suppose I could simply swap the internals into the new cases, but why not use the "new" electronics as well?

I have put in Racesport gen3 leds I'm the process of doing a custom audio overhaul which will include Hybrid audio unity 6x9 mid bass, unity 3 inch mid driver in the dash and fiberglassing tweets in pilar soundeading all the doors, floors, and headliner and I will be using a helix processor to retain the factory radio and as far as subs I might make custom brackets to move rear seat foward a few inches to get a full size sub in there or I might just go with a pair of jl tw5 or tw3 and it will all be powered by jl audio HD amps or I might try out the new hybrid amps
Yes it will work there identical besides branding mesa is a private label for special mesa dealers

Next question is, anyway to make these more robust? Certainly is a weak point in the design if you keep your keys in your pocket.

So, the new fobs came in and as the internals looked fine on the old ones I just swapped the old internals into the new case.

Thinking of the plastic loop on the fob this is a stress point between the plastic and steel key ring. So I tied a loop in a piece of 550 paracord and used that to join the two. Hopefully that takes care of it.
