In case anyone wanted to see what the Prinsu Awning Mounting brackets vs the Prinsu Quick Release Awning Mounting brackets look like on the Prinsu rack, I have pics of both. I ordered the regular, then when I got them, I decided that the quick release ones would be a better fit since I probably won’t have the awning on the truck 24/7.
Anyway here’s a few pics for reference:

I liked the idea of these but held off buying because the reviews were very poor. Bad quality and fit of locking mechanism I think was the main problem. All of the reviews have been deleted from CBI's website (as they tend to do...I know because I've reviewed other products and those reviews are gone). I'd be curious about your experience with them.

It may be too early to tell, but I’m not seeing issues with the latching mechanisms. There are two bolts that are supposed to be tightened snug that act as alignment of the two pieces of each of the brackets. They supply thread locker, but I may add a locking nut on the backside of each bolt since I found that I was not able to align the different pieces if the bolts were snugged down completely.

When I was looking at awnings and mounting brackets, I could not get a clear picture on what the different mounts looked on a Prinsu rack. I thought I would set both up on the rack so people could see how they look and how far they sit off the rack. I went with a 23Zero 180R Awning and I can take it off in maybe 5 mins. Of course added convenience means reduced security so a thief could also snatch it off in 5 mins. I plan on looking into locking options soon.

I hope they work as intended, I like the low profile and function. Post up an update once you've had a chance to use them for a bit.

Thanks for the insight. I've been about to pull the trigger on that mount/awning setup several times.

I hope that this helps. So far I’ve had the awning on and off the truck a few times. Knock on wood…I’m not seeing any issues with the brackets so far. They work really well.

Been considering the same setup for my 4Runner. I’ve got a Roofnest Condor tent on my Prinsu and looking for a low profile awning bracket that would work with the tent when it’s opened. Any way you could measure how much the bracket extends past the top of the rack? (See picture for reference)

Any update on these? I'm looking at the quick detach ones, too, but curious now that someone mentioned negative reviews.

So far, so good. I have not had any issues with taking the awning off and back on.

Would it make sense to consider substituting your own bolts with lock-nuts in place of the RivNuts? I'm not a huge fan of RivNuts to begin with and they look questionable in this application.

Looking at the assembly, I also think that adding a small alignment lip on the awning bracket that would go over the top of the rack bracket might help with quick installation.

I am confused on how the QR brackets work:
    • You have the silver latches on each side to snug it down
    • But then you also have two bolts that have to be tightened down?
Sounds part quick release and part "manual tightening" and the manual tightening is in a tight space.

I purchased the standard awning brackets and the powder coat on these was terrible and I had to remove them after two winters in Minnesota because they rusted so bad they became an eye sore. They did nothing when contacted about the issue and deleted my review off their site as well. Other than the powder coat the product functioned as intended but its pretty simple.

Are they still holding up? I have the same awning and I'd like a quicker on/off so I don't have to leave it mounted all the time or carry my impact.

I have the awning mounts and a rear bumper from CBI/Prinsu. Both have rust. Rear bumper started developing rust within first two weeks of install. That being said, the mounts hold up otherwise and do work well for quick on/off of awnings. I hit them with some rust-oleum from time to time to keep rust from spreading.
