Does the 2017 Tacoma manual transmission have a transmission fluid filter? Thank you!

I wanted to change the transmission fluid myself, but my friend keeps telling me that I need to change the filter also.

No filter. Just an internal non serviceable magnet to catch wear metal. Drain and fill it with the proper GL4 fluid. Additional magnets can be added via OEM fill and drain plugs from Toyota. The stock fill drain do not have any.

Yes. The manual transmission has a filter. It is the magnet on the drain plug. Clean it when you change the fluid. It is reusable.

^^^This is good stuff^^^ Had it in mine until I sold it.
I had used OEM, Redline MT-90, and XT-M5-QS.
I would say that the Motorcraft is the smoothest of the bunch.

I swapped out the factory fill around 30k, the Motorcraft product seemed to make the transmission slicker for lack of a better word.

I see it popped up in an Amazon ad at the bottom of the page, Rock Auto is $10 cheaper!
