To hell with the third brake light. The whole rear window is blocked. Looks cool, but not a mod I could do. I require visibility.

It’s bolted on there. 3 bolts per side. The bolts we used to secure it to the bed are black.

I just mounted everything today to see how it looks. I plan on taking the tire off unless I’m off-roading. My Taco also isn’t my DD. So it’ll be sitting in the garage most of the time.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah my first thought went to how often I'm checking behind me while I'm running down the interstate (about 15 hours a week), and I spent most of the day today running around with a trailer that I had to back into and down a driveway. Can't imagine doing that with side mirrors alone. I just figured that everybody's driving style is different though. If the spare is only mounted for off road trips then it's no big deal. And it looks cool.

I wonder if this interferes with the TSS. I want one.

Not the OP, but lots and lots of people have done decals, wraps and films over the sensor without any issues. I did something similar myself. No idiot lights and the truck tells me to brake for no reason just as often as without the film (usually because somebody is turning off the road and the truck doesn't understand that I know wtf I'm doing).

… made an appointment for a new windshield already at only 6700 miles. It got hit with a rock at 300 miles which cracked up the passenger side 5 minutes later, then it got hit with a huge rock three days ago on the Oregon coast, this morning it had turned into a roughly 12” crack right in front of the drivers seat. I’m really hoping the new one will last longer
1BBDA332-DB27-4F84-891F-BB8DB932273F.jpg Oh yeah. And gave it a good wash after a 1700 mile road trip.

That’s true, I had the same thought… however in the past I was an automotive painter and have seen many damages caused by windshield removal, which makes me nervous. It’ll get a good inspection after the install.

Decided to finally put on these Meso tails. The clears looks solid on cement, although I couldn’t get a great shot with it so cloudy out. Might end up tinting them a little. Wanted to do something different with the tailgate as well and plasti dipped it in case I didn’t like it… but I’m digging it!

    Enough for now
Got the oil changed and tires rotated. Got home and saw the trap door screw on the skid plate was half way out and there was “hopefully” old oil all over the skid. Checked the wheel torques and it seems okay. Le sigh it’s what I get for not doing it myself

Have any of you guys tried using butyl tape for seal these things up? It would probably work better than silicone and I would assume you could do a much cleaner job. It can be bought on Amazon or a local store that sells Autobody supplies and is very easy to work with. Just curious, from a former automotive painters standpoint, that’s what I would use.
