It affected my 17. I got the plugs and hallelujah.

True story: I recently lost two of the plugs wheeling, and had forgotten about the whole TSB. Started to hear a howling on my truck and thought.....jeez here we go with the needle bearing.....then I remembered the A-arms plugs and checked and they had been scraped off. Put new ones in and bam.....truck is silent again.

Just a thought.......look at your a-arms and compare to the diagram in the TSB.

There is literally 8 pieces of duct tape on each side of my truck and both UCAs and LCAs. This was my first thought because it happened after lifting the truck to 2.5"s but not after my initial 1.5" lift.
Unless I'm missing a hole I don't think it's this. I even plugged the hole that the sway bar links go in, being that I took my sway bar off.

It sounds like a similar noise to what people describe the LCA noise as, but I don't know.

888s which sagged to 2" lift so I threw some small spacers on top to get me back to 2.5" lift

Hmmmm. Being a rotational noise, does it come and go with different pavement/concrete
    Street vs smooth parking lot.
Could be the lower and upper control arm moving the spring up and down.

I've kinda noticed when I'm in s mode and I keep the RPMs higher longer I don't notice the sound as much, however, that could just be the engine drowning out the noise.
The howl I'm hearing really isn't that loud. Just noticeable to me. Even when I pointed it out to other people they could only barely hear it.

99% sure it's the tires. I believe two are out of round enough to make a whining noise at highway speeds.

Well geez. What a crappy problem. It doesn't that you are lifted and stuff and have shims either...

How many miles on it, and how long has the issue been going on? Did it start out of nowhere?

If its the same noise its not related to truck speed, but engine speed. Anything higher than about 1800 rpm when the compressor engages (and if outside temps are hot enough) will cause it to whistle for about 3-4 seconds.... then quiet until the compressor cycles off, then when the compressor cycles back on, same deal.

Intermittent Whistle Noise Through Vents With Air Conditioning ON

Some 2016 – 2022 model year Tacoma vehicles may exhibit what customers describe as a 1 – 3-second whistle noise from the HVAC system when the air conditioning system is ON. The whistle noise may occur as the compressor cycles ON/OFF and is more prevalent with increased engine RPM during hot ambient temperatures. Follow the Repair Procedure in this bulletin to address this condition.

    APPLICABLE WARRANTY

This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
