I am brand new to the world of RV/trailers. My wife and I just bought our very first trailer last weekend. We have a ton to learn, and I have been doing some research on the internets, but wanted to get some opinions from you all here.

When you stay in a campground or other area that has full electrical hookups - do you use a surge suppressor on your trailer/RV? Just wondering if there is a significant need for one or not at most campgrounds. No sense in spending the $$$ if it isn't really needed.

    Much appreciated

Try speaking with the people who have needed to do electrical repairs and see if they endorse SPs. I bought and use one. I see it as cheap insurance.

My thoughts as well, just thought I'd check to see if anyone might possibly have a downside to using one (other than simply a couple extra $$).

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Yes. Definitely use a SP. Reading reviews you’ll find the leader is also the Priciest. Progressive Industries EMS PT 30X or 50x. The numbers represent the maximum amperage pull of your trailer. There are also “wired in” versions of each. I like the externals since I can take this with me through my different trailers.

Thank you all, I will be ordering one, probably the same one Daria mentioned, this week.

There is one more thing to consider, in case of surge (or whatever) is the unit going to be usable again or do you need to replace it? Or can you replace an actual surge protector "piece" within the unit and continue enjoying it...

This is something worth looking into
