    Help....

My downstream o2 sensor nuts seem to have dissolved into the threads. See photo.

I had a check engine light come one, saw it was the downstream o2 sensor. When I checked on it, it wasn't even attached.

So far I've tried a number of cleaners and brass brushes to get the stuff to come off. Almost no luck.

Sorry I know we all see a number of these posts but that's half the reason why this site is great.

Might be worth trying however you're going to need HEAT as in FLAME and may or may not work.

HEAT the hell out of it and see if you can get both studs out. If so, replace with --

Or, just take it into the local exhaust shop and have them do it for you. Good luck

EDIT: What about re-threading it? Might work.

    Stock. EZ pass.Dump pass.Inspection sticker.Convict printed lic.plates.FG cap.
I took the studs out using locking vice grips. They all came out easily.
I ran a thread tap in to clean up the holes and installed new studs.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Depends on your skills it might be easier and cheaper to just replace the pipe and be done.

If you had the know how you would have just fixed things as needed.

Have any friends that can help ?? If you pay shop labor depending where the truck lives it could get expensive

If your good with a oxy-fuel torch you can heat what is left of the nuts and turn them off with vice grips

Heat the bung maybe get the studs out and replace the studs .

welding a new bung with that pipe being so rusted will be interesting .

What condition is the muffler and tail pipe? Nothing like working on old thermal cycled exhaust systems it might be easier just replace from the cat back and be done

    Good luck !!

    Second this.

Best tool I've ever bought was a cheap torch from the hardware store. Seems intimidating at first, but it's really nothing at all to heat stuff up.

Second also to the exhaust shop. Super cheap for stuff like that and they'll probably just do it on the spot if you ask nicely.
