I saw your post in the 5100/887 thread and forgot to check mine. I am pretty sure when I ordered mine from wheelers they came preset on the bottom clip unlike yours. I can check today after work if I remember but hopefully they didnt preload them putting them on the 3rd clip.

After I got the vinyl peeled off, I started with Goo-Gone then went with WD-40 to remove as much adhesive as possible. I then rinsed with water and used polishing compound to remove the rest, then some spray wax. Doors and tailgate are next.

100% on the debadged/de-decaled look. Especially the 2nd gen's. The bed and tailgate have some nice lines. You really see them when all that other stuff is gone.

Installed a couple of D rings in the front of the bed. Went w/ Amazon, since I couldn't wait a week for the Sprinter rings.

Well this has been a process ( 1st time tearing down a shock myself) but made some good headway last night. 31E277F7-545D-4E15-B44E-A8AC7CD53E27.jpg

How’s this tonneau holding up for you? I have a soft tri-fold, but really thinking I’d prefer the roll-up style..

You would probably notice if they did, when I put them on my truck it was noticeably more lift than the 3" and probably would have been a very rough ride. Hub to fender was just over 25" lol. I couldn't even hook the abs wire bracket up cause the shock didn't compress at all under the weight of the truck.

If they did set it up correctly could you send me a photo and possibly a screenshot of what exactly you ordered? I'm really trying to get my $100 assembly fee back from them cause I have to bring it somewhere else to get the perch lowered and pay them...

I was hub to fender around 25 inches at install but it settled after it broke in and then I also added armor post lift that has settled it more. My ride wasn't harsh at all though like it was preloaded at a higher clip setting which makes me think I wasnt on clip 3 cause I had some compression when i sat it on the ground the first time.

My pre and post lift measurements
    Stock - Lifted
    DF 19 3/4" - 23 1/4"
    DR 21 1/4" - 25"
    PF 20" - 24"
    PR 21 1/2" - 25 1/4"

I just ran out and checked cause it was bothering me. Mine are on the bottom clip. All OME springs on 5100s are supposed to be installed on the bottom clip no matter what spring you go with. going up a clip just adds preload.

*edit: Also ordered and had assembled by wheelers then shipped to me.

Good to know. Nice to see that you are getting at least 3" with your 887 on the lowest clip. Still confused how they came to the conclusion that an 887 set on the lowest clip would give only 2" of lift while set on the third clip up is 3". I emailed again and asked how they decided that, and asked why they were the only ones who think its ok to put Old Man Emu Springs on a perch above the lowest one. Also reached out to them through DM on TW, have yet to hear back from them in either case. It took them over a week to respond to my first email so I'm not expecting another response for a few days.

Their response to my first email was:

    "Hello,

That is the clip option you ordered.

For a 3” lift, you have to adjust the clips, otherwise it would only be the 2”.

You were shipped what you ordered."

but their only option for an 887 on a 5100 for a 2nd gen is 3"... there is no other option on their dropdown on their site, so I thought it was safe to assume it was on the lowest perch.

yeah there aren't clip options when ordering online through them.... because OMEs are supposed to stay on the bottom clip no matter which spring you order. I am surprised that's their response they should definitely know that.

A family member just bought a 2014 PreRunner, one year older than mine. Ordered some common first-time Tacoma stuff for them: bed mat, floor mats, Uni Filter mod, etc. Got a backup camera on the way as well an OEM gas cap. It had some janky lockable one on there.

If you read through that thread I mentioned yesterday their response doesn't really come as a surprise. Don't back down, keep on them, and hold them accountable.

Fresh frame! It took exactly a week to get it done. First I had to wait 6 weeks for it to come in. Overall it was a good experience with the dealership. They didn't try and charge me for anything or up sale me anything. So far it's driving fine.

Not bad at all. Vince on "Customer States What" (YouTube), put up a video, he figured out an easy way to do it.
