With the memorial day sales occurring on certain toyota online sites, I'd like to order a set of black '22 TRD Pro door emblems. The black "tacoma" emblems I am looking for - not the "TRD PRO" emblems found on the earlier Tacoma PROs below the side view mirror. I know there is black emblem overlays and I don't like the look - would rather have black Tacoma emblems that don't look too bulky. Everything I've been finding online is the smaller black emblems from previous generation Tacomas.

If anyone has the part number - that would be greatly appreciated!

Looks like the emblem overlays to me  the overlays are only a couple mm thick and OEM is pretty spot on with fitment over the chrome, can't say for aftermarket.

They are not overlays since you can see the paint color through the openings in the A C O A letters. Within the overlays it covers all the openings so you can't see the paint behind it.

It’d be easier (and way cheaper) to remove your emblems with fishing line and paint them yourself with matte or gloss black paint.

The photo you posted looks like a green tinge in the A-holes(lol) but I’m not saying I’m right either. That’d be cool if they had new black emblems; good luck with your search! :D

Just get the black overlays, you wont be able to tell the difference. In addition, if they ever get scuffed or faded years down the road you can just replace the overlays and make em look fresh again

They might have new black badges since Toyota is adding the SX pkg to the SR5, which has door badging that the SR SX did not, and that badging is black like on the Pro.

IDK why Toyota didn't just make black badges instead of black overlays to begin with?

Probably profit, but I can't believe Toyota made much money in consideration to the cost of producing black overlays.

Maybe for production purposes? Only 5 seconds to slap the overlay on the existing emblem especially since you can't really mess up even if you tried when putting it on. Or to make it user friendly and trying to get their money's worth from that since they charge about $150 at the dealership for the overlays as a package that you have to buy as a whole?

Overlay is easy I imagine…. Even Etsy has em’…. Fortunately I have factory installed overlay… which is dumb… since they could have put on black ones as OEM and not two parts to do one thing. You might need a heat gun to remove original chrome badge and install aftermarket black or Sx (if its a part)?

I took both of mine off my 2021 Pro. Let me look to see if I still have them.

Curious why there's two different part numbers.

eBay, $18. Can't tell the difference from my chrome ones. Really can't even tell when they're dirty.

All personal preference on mods. Personally I like the embossed TRD PRO bed just the way it is. If you do this mod, then might want to coordinate with the tailgate letter inserts in black as well.

After ordering the wrong emblems that my local dealer misinformed me of ('21 model year), Sparks was able to help out. Anyhow here is the part number for the black "tacoma" on the '22 TRD Pro front doors. Although the emblem says "R", I held it up to the left emblem and see no difference.
2022 TRD Pro black door "Tacoma" Emblems: 75427-04050 MSRP: $62.67
