Is there a shop in Kentucky that can install gears in my Tacoma? I'm thinking about doing a re-gear on mine.

I'll go with 'yes' for 500 please Alex.

Suggestion. Find your local drag racers and ask them about differential shops.

Contact East Coast Gear Supply and ask if the have recommended installers.

Dont forget you need both diffs done.

Yes, Performance Off Road in Alexandria, 859-635-3058. They installed Nitro gears & Eaton e-lockers in my 2020 Limited. They also installed my BDS lift kit and made the body mount mods to fit my 35s. These guys know what they're doing. Ask for Roy.

I'm wanting to do the same, swap to 4.88 gears for towing a small trailer. No plans for large tires or heavy mods so won't need 5.29's. I've been looking for a shop also, many re-gear tacoma's but I want one thats done a bunch and comes recommended.

Dane, let me know how much it costs and if you're satisfied with the work afterward.

    Will do! Thanks man!

I'll probably post something on here.

Well, looks like I'll be pinching pennies again this year.
DAMMIT!! Why do I have to love modifying my cars and trucks so much?

Please do let us know how the upgrade goes! I'm in the same boat - upgrading to 4.88's - and this shop is an easy drive for me. I have a local shop that works on my Supra and does fantastic work, but specializes in German cars (the Supra is just a Z4) and likely wouldn't take the work on the Tacoma given their workload.

EDIT: I'm curious as to what you're quoted. When I search on the forum about this, I don't tend to see what it's costing people, which I'm personally curious about.

I'm gonna call tomorrow and get a quote, but I may not get the work done until July or August when I have some time off from work.

Any shops in the local Louisville area that specialize in Tacoma's? I'll be installing some wheels and some Ko2's and would like to have the wheels balanced correctly, the first time and a road force balance.
