It looks like we're planning a trip to Big Bend this fall. Because of the complete lack of cell service and the proximity the southern border and it's issues, I want to add on board comms. To those with some travel experience, do you know if the NP's or locals monitor any of the GMRS channels and how I could find out? I will also be checking with my the federal agencies that patrol that area.

Next. Looking at this because I can tuck the radio away out of view: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FN2FBM...colid=2WMP9JBX0J5Q3&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1

It looks like a good unit and I think there area few in the group. Is it worth it for a novice to wiring and such to spend the extra on the bundle, or can I find the extras for less?

    TIA

Have you considered one of the satellite communicators? I have my old Zoleo if you want it.

I was going to say the same. If the goal is emergency comms, satellite is the way to go. Garmin mini doesn’t break the bank and will get the job done.

I lost a lot of front diff fluid on the driver's side while driving to VA. I don't see any torn boots, maybe a seal has gone bad? I had the drivers side seal replaced about 1 year ago. For reference, I am running Nitro 4.88 front/rear with RCA axles. The shop that installed the axles informed me that the machining on the axles may not seal as good as the Toyota OEM ones.

It is all about messaging and how you pitch it...

    Perhaps something like this?

"Ooorahh Brother, when are you visiting HI? Can I pay for the extra checked bag that will hold those LCA skids?
    Aloha and Semper Fi!
    -Will"

Haha! That's hilarious, because when I was typing my reply initially, I considered throwing in a Marine connection. Lol. I wouldn't mind having these, but would just have someone local pick them up for me is so...I'll be back in that area this time next year.

Edit: wondering if there are fitment issues with some aftermarket skids (Mobtown)?

Haha, been a minute since I've been "Devil Dogged"! :D

I'll definitely consider it, but would much rather have those beauties! Probably out of my budget/needs right now though...
