2005 ac issue??

    2005 Tacoma TRD sport short bed
    K&N air filter, are bed cover
    I have a 2005 with blinking ac light no cold air…. a 3 year old compressor- the Freon is charged correctly… the compressor does not kick in at all. I replaced the magnet clutch relay 90987-02028
    What can it be?? In Lakewood CO. Thank you.

    Check the IG1 NO2 Fuse.

    Also check belt tension and age and your spring tensioner idler.

    If the tensioner idler is "vibrating" when the truck is running it's time to replace it, it should be pretty steady in it's position at idle.

    Hard to give you an idea of force but it should require somewhere around 30-40 ft lbs to get it to slack off.


    The flashing light can be an indicator that the free wheeling clutch is not locking up or that the belt is slipping on the pulley.

    With the A/C controls turned on, check for power right at the magnetic clutch connector. If it's got power is should be engaged and turning
