Just a few pix I snapped today at Kpoint with @lemon177 and some other peepz. Was a total blast and hopefully we can get a big group run there of the PK flats next time.

Can, I've done it a few times. Just adhere to the rules on what can be set up and they shouldn't bother.

Thank you for the pictures, i now live on the Big Island , move here in the early 80’s.
From Wahiawa, Kaena point was one of our flavorite fishing ground, pound there in the 70’s-80’s. I also miss Nakatanis (70’s) was a regular then. Even had dinner many times from Nakatanis drive in. We fish across the street.

I drove around Kaena point two times. I hear cannot anymore. I do miss the bait casting.

Fishing the Big Island , Wow the fishing is still good. A 108 came recently at otec area.
    Strictly slide baiting.
I learn how to slide puhi bones, hanging live eels for baits.
    Menpachi fishing almost every where.
Opihi, three kinds , still can get.

Learning to catch and eat the Hage’s . Found out on the Big Island it is a popular eating fish. We enjoy eating this fish today! Very good too.

Can you still drive to the light house? In the 70’s I use see to see a couple of Land cruises at the bottom of the light house fishing?

On Waianae side of Kaena point there was a few places guys could catch Ahi from shoreline.

Those were the B-4 days. A long time ago. Maybe before some of you were born?

Yeah all of those stores are beautiful memories from the past now.
I believe Hurricane Ewa wiped out chunks of the waianae side road to the point and it never got fixed and at the point, it's now a sanctuary for sea birds. So they put up a predator fence blocking off the entire point. You can still access the point by foot though. Used to have sand dunes on the north shore side too.....those are gone as well

Thank you . The world is changing fast. Growing population, over crowding, we are losing many fishing and camping spaces, due to too many people wanting to enjoy the outdoors.

Life will never be like B-4. Enjoy what you got now, tomorrow it will be different. Many times in the B-4 days we would be the only guys fishing and camping at Kaena point.
