Well I stripped the drain bolt. Oh well. I’ll use this on the rear diff or something. How frustrating. I thought I had it, the fill bolt wasn’t the issue getting loose, it was the drain bolt. Whatevs

Some guys just weld another bolt head onto it. I believe they use a very common size of hex head.

I’m very pissed about stripping that drain bolt. I thought it was the fill bolt that was giving me an issue. I got it cracked and got all excited, only to come home and strip the drain bolt. Guess I can throw this 75W-90 in my rear diff (it calls for 80W-90) in the near future sometime.

It's a dumbass design for that part. No mechanic is ever gonna just snug it up, and even when you do, yourself, it still a bitch to get off the next time. Fumoto for the win. Also keep in mind that the oil filter canister is plastic. I replaced my es300h and Tacoma with metal. I sleep better. Each have a Fumoto too.

Can't they just sand the paint off, or paint over it?

I will make my own stencil and spray mine myself.

The amount of grief you will get when you drain your transfer case and fill the motor oil.

Put in your King order now. Should arrive about this time next year.

My neighbor came over and asked how much $$ I had in the truck. I told him I really don’t know, weigh is what I count. Anyway I started to calculate accumulated cost and that truck may become a pavement princess (so no jumping). There is no way I will replace the toy if I destroy it.

I was referring to my front differential, which has a hex plug. I run a Fumoto on my engine oil drain pan. It’s just the front diff drain bolt that’s now stripped.

You may be able to pump the old fluid out the fill plug. Not elegant but it’s a 30k mile service.
