Thanks. I am going to complete the install today later when it warms up and hopefully I'll have the same result you experienced.

Did you guys get rear lock striker brackets with your Diamondback SE for the long bed? Or do those brackets only come for the Tacoma short bed?

    Looks awesome!

This must be something they've changed in the last six months or so. It wasn't included as part of my kit/install.

That 2 hours includes taking off my previous cover (LEER HF350M).

I think what took me forever to do is the front panel locks. I had to crawl and wrench within the bed, the cover closed by my sister sitting on it. It was a bit of trial and error.

So the LEER required crawl & wrench?

The DB install looks straight forward but then again, not all things are straight forward.

My truck is a short bed and I used the supplied striker brackets. Not sure if they are required on the long bed or not.

The DB had me crawl and wrench; the LEER was removing cover and side rail.

I also just take my time on installations so that's a contributing factor (and having to ask for my sister repeatedly to sit on the cover as it was cold the night I installed the DB).

For you guys who've had your DB for a while, how is the exterior coating holding up? Any fading at all? I'm considering upgrading from the OEM. I can't stand how bad the OEM fades after a short time in the sun.

From what I can tell, the color hasn't faded. 2 year ownership now.

Love my DB, it doesnt collect dust inside the bed when offroading so thats a big plus.

I have the heavy duty one. I put 1200 pounds of corn on top and fill my deer feeders. I even back up to the feeders and stand on it to fill them. It was one of the factors why i purchased it. Unbelievably convenient!
I also have the 13 in deep storage box. Wish i had bought the 8 in though. Would like to trade someone but i live in the N GA mountains, low population.

The crossbin 8 is nice ... being able to utilize my full 6 ft bed. I have this long Stihl trimmer and the trimmer head fits right under the crossbin 8.

I have an HD. I was lucky enough to find one for sale locally for a great price. I love it. Versatile, strong, looks good and secures whatever I put in the bed. It's also quick and easy to remove the panels separately if needed. I swap it out for my softopper when I want to change up the look. I ordered a bedrack from chassis unlimited that they designed to bolt to the DB. I'll post up pics when I get it installed.

I have an HD with a crossbin and have been very happy with it. I installed lights that are tapped from the cargo switch on the bottom / inside to see anything I need underneath. I can remove / install the cover in 15-20 mins. One thing that helps is taking a sharpie and marking the location of the center assembly that clamps down so you don't have to re-align every time. Has held up to weather and sun fine over the course of a year and a half.

Love my Diamondback, it can hold up to 1500-1600 pounds apparently. I've not gotten close to that but it is sturdy and solid. And heavy. And still looks as good as the day I installed it. Plus convenient to be able to remove the two front/rear "wings" and just leave the center support bolted on.
