I have ScanGage 2s on my Tacoma and my 2016 Vette. I love being able to see important parameters you can't get on the instruments.

Question about TPMS on Tacoma... with the SC2 show actual tire pressures? I need to check into that.

Yes, but you need firmware 4.45 or newer (I think). Their website tells you the exact version you need and gives you IDs to program in

I sent my SGII in a few months ago so they could update it. Now I can read TPMS which is handy. Id say the monitors are +/- 3 PSI most of the time

I sent mine in for firmware about a year and a half ago so I could get TFT when I needed to repair a transmission leak and refill it. IIRC programming that was a bit of a PITA. I am on FW 4.53 so hopefully it will also do TPMS. I'll be checking this out. It is really a PITA that SG doesn't allow OTA FW updates. The one thing I dislike about them.

So, I went and programmed the tire pressure Xgages and it worked perfectly with FW 4.53. I had to use the second set of codes in the "method 1" table for my 2009 CANSF.

One question: does anyone know which tire is which? All it says is Tire Pressure 1, Tire Pressure 2, etc. I assume TP1 is either driver or passenger front, then which way do they go from there? If we know that we can go in and edit our XGages to make them LFP, RFP. LRP, RRP or similar. I suppose I could go release air from tires one at a time to figure this out. But why recreate the wheel if one of you has already done it?

Dont think there is any way to know other than changing pressure one at a time.

I thought about doing that, but it would just change every time you rotate the tires anyway. So not sure its worth it

Wouldn't be too hard to make renaming them part of the rotation maintenance. I don't do that very often. Or once you have done this you can simply write down the new mapping after rotation and keep it with your manual in the glovebox.

The other thing I need to check to see is if my XTool bidirectional scanner can reprogram or rename the TPMS sensors.

Response from SGII on my question to them about 6 weeks ago about TPMS readings.

    Kylie Antrosiglio
Toyota does not specify the exact location of each sensor just simply label them as 1-5. The best way to determine which sensor applies to each tire is to take the physical reading and compare to the reported values on the ScanGauge. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Yes, that's how both the ScanGauge and my XTool scanner report the tire pressure sensors. I am going to physically lower the pressure one at a time to identify the locations, them rename the XGage functions to be PLF, PRF, PLR, PRR. Then when I rotate the tires, I can just go into the ScanGage rename them again. That process is easy and fast once you've done it a couple of times.

Finally got my scangauge and entered all 4 trans temp codes from their website in (one labeled trans temps and the other trans temp alternates) all for the 2010+

But only one of those monitors is giving me temps. I double checked all the numbers and have entered them in correctly. So im continuing my troubleshooting

    Any ideas anyone?

In my experience that is how they work. You have to try the recommended TFT codes to find the one that works. They won't all work and for some reason they can't tell you exactly which one you need.

For your truck these codes should work

I've contacted Scan Gauge with questions and they responded pretty quick. You might want to give them a try.
