    All,

This is my first post on here but I have been following many threads on these forums for quite some time. I have been looking for an inexpensive way to add a nice set of nerf bars to my 2010 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner TRD Crew Cab for a couple of months now. My wife is pregnant and wants these put on, even though the truck sits low enough (my opinion).

After surfing the net, I happened to find a guy locally that is selling a brand new set (in box) of Westin 23-2770 nerf bars with mounting kits for a ridiculous amount (less than $50). The problem is it was damaged during shipping at one of the ends of one of the bars (see image):

EDIT: LINK REMOVED- PHOTO IN POST #2

For this amount, I am going to meet the guy and take a look and most likely buy them. My question is this:

    1. Will Westin replace these with their warranty?
    2. If Westin will not replace, do you guys suggest a place where I might get these corrected and bent back?

    Your help is greatly appreciated!

Westin probably won't cover it if you are not the original buyer. Heck, you got a great deal for $50 even with that minor dent. Why pay a body shop to fix that? Those bars are prone to dings but the walls are weak enough that you should be able to hammer it out.

Maybe I shouldn't use ImageShack....I just clicked on it and got the same fake pop-up BS. ImageShack should be shut down.

Being a westin dealer, I'll try to answer this for you. Westin will most likely not warranty it for you since your not the original purchaser. However as stated aboved that is something you could easily hammer out. From the looks it didn't damage the mounting portion so you should be able to correct it. BTW $50 dollars is an awesome deal for those because thats under half of the wholesale cost for them! Great buy!

My guess is you are on your own for that damage unless the guy will try to get it fixed before he sells them to you.

Try using that fat end of a wooden baseball bat, insert it and work it back and forth.

Try a Westin dealer but I doubt you can just get an end cap. I say scope out a Chevy with westin bars and pry one off of theirs. J/K.. If only the neck of the endcap is bent, you can try wrapping it with black duct tape to get the thickness back and some epoxy, then force it in. (Damn!, that has a sexual tone to it, wonder if that will really work? hmm..)

I'm a westin Dealer! I'm going to check our displays in our showroom and see if they have any caps on them. If they do I can send you one!
