Can a stock 4x4 Tacoma Long bed drive into Kamilo beach?

There is a beach clean-up on July 14,2022. Just wondering how rough the road is? Heard the first part is all dirt. As you get closer to the beach how bad, rocky?

Any pictures or information would be great! “Mahalo’s.

I took a Chrysler intrepid rental car on the road to Hana when it was not maintained and it survived ( I think). The plastic hubcaps melted off on the way down the hill from Haleakala. Anything is possible if you put your mind to it. I don't know go try it.

I being to Hana and the Maui back road on a rental car. The horseback riders only shook there heads, as I ask if I can make it. And we did.

I never being to Kamilo, looking forward to this trip.

Like watah. Overgrown bushes and branches might give you some scratches though.

Good to know. Can we cut those bushes? Or too much work?

There a Wildlife Fund Group clean-up project going to Kamilo beach on July 14, 2022. Either walk in, join the caravan 4x4 group.
I have a 4x4 Tacoma TRD long bed with a camper top. It will be my first time going to this beach. I just want to know how the road conditions are?
    ——-
I been almost all the way in South point past green sands, Maunka and drove all the way to Road to the Sea, and back (beach trail) a few times in my other 4x4. + 84 & 79 mile markers , were the worst roads for me.

My Tacoma , sticking to milder off road trails today.

I drove to Kamilo Beach about 10 days ago. First I drove thru the meadows to Ka'alu'alu Bay which is easy enough. I asked some campers about continuing to Kamilo Beach, and they said my rig would make it fine, so I gave it a try. There is maybe 1 or 2 rough sections where I put it in low range just so I could creep over the rocks, but the rest was no prob except slow-going. No clearance problems or otherwise. Here's as far as I went: https://goo.gl/maps/89SSKEJhBChPZCCb9
I probably wouldn't drive there too often as it was so slow going. Maybe to camp or a beach cleanup makes it worth it. I'll have to check out the beach clean-up event.

Who's doing the clean-up? I thought it was Hawaii Wildlife fund but I don't see it on their calendar https://www.wildhawaii.org
Maybe it's full up and they don't need anyone else?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, maybe we didn't drive far enough, but we hardly saw any trash. There was some, but not much.

The Kamilo beach clean-up was posted on the Hawaii wild life calendar . July 14, 2022.

I forgot I had another meeting in Kona that same day. I called to drop out.

I am sure there is more room for volunteers? Just call the Hawaii Wild life Fund.

Thank you posting the picture! And the infos on the road conditions.

As a Ulua fisherman on the Big island , We have been on some pretty rough shoreline roads before.
My 2019 Tacoma Long bed, never been off road yet! Except for the farm.

You should take it to Ka'alu'alu Bay sometime. I was there 20 years ago when I lived in Naalehu (Discovery Harbour), and it hasn't changed much at all. My wife and I plan to go camping there soon.
