    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
Major thumbs up to the 333 Fab alignment cam eliminators!

Finally got all the other work, I've been doing this weekend, done. Got wheels back on the ground. This is probably aligned better than it ever has been.

Steering wheel dead centered. Drives perfectly straight. Steering returns exactly the way I want it. And the back side of my tire is over 3 inches away from the back fender.

I could tell the kit moved the wheels forward a bunch, because both the wheels were toed way out before I adjusted them. I'm certain the tie rods are not adjusted too far out. I checked the witness marks the old set of tie rods I keep as spares, and they ran with over twice as many threads showing as what I currently have on the truck.

    Screenshot_20220703-173728_DuckDuckGo.jpg

    https://333fabrications.com/products/cam-eliminator-kit

Did the alignment here. The toe is within 1/16th of an inch from front of tires to back of tires. The camber is as good as you can get it without a rack. And with the placement of the wheel away from the fender, the caster is perfect.

Thanks for the heads up on the kit @theesotericone. I ended up staying at D setting. I may need to change it when I go 35s, but for now it's 2 thumbs up :thumbsup:

Changed my oil today, and damn I need a new oil filter wrench. The one I have is crap. Any suggestions?

    K&N oil filters.

Absolutely zero chance I use anything else. 1 inch nut right on the top. Easy peasy every time.

Alright so double cab v6 4wd, stock bumpers. Currently I have OME 882s and dakars + aal in the back. The back rides pretty well but I get beat to death by the front.

My idea is to swap my 882s for 881s as much as I'd like to make the jump to coilovers its just not something I can afford right now.

My other thought was snagging some beefier skid plates, but I'm not sure if that would be enough weight to settle down the 882s. Any thoughts?

I use a strap wrench for mine, super easy. Easiest to do from under the truck, through the wheel well is doable, but I just crack it when I'm under there getting the plug.

The first time I changed my own oil - after having it changed at the dealer for the first 15 years of the truck's life - I had a bear of a time getting the filter off. But, since doing it myself, it's always been super easy.

An oil filter should never be all that tightly attached; screw it on by hand, and when it starts to snug up (i.e. the rubber seal is contacting the mating surface), you know you're getting close. Continue to tighten (again, by finger) another 1/4 - 3/4 a turn or so. You should still be able to - relatively easily - loosen it. The threading on the mount is fine enough that you'll have plenty of compression on the seal at that point, so you don't need to worry about leaks, and you won't need wrenches or anything to get the filter off. Just reach your left hand up in there (I go in from the front, over the front crossmember) and loosen the filter.

That is exactly how I have always done it, except for the getting it off part. I do go a full 3/4 of a turn after contact. Maybe if I keep it to 1/2 turn and when I go to take it off clean it up good so I can get a real good grip on it. I don't know, it's always been a struggle to get it off. It would have to be a lot easier to be able to get it by hand.

I have one of those things you put on the end of it and use a ratchet to take it off for the wife's 4-runner and it works great. Her's has those fancy cartridge filters. I have one for my truck to, but it's a cheap Wal-Mart one and it sucks. Plus these OEM filters seem to be a slight bit smaller than the ones I have used in the past making the wrench thing completly useless.

These are pretty handy if the filter is on too tight to get it off by hand, fits just about any size and digs into it a little to get purchase.

Replaced my pinion seal, i think this one was pretty done. Gotta replace an o2 sensor gasket that got lost when doing my exhaust and change the oil.

I prefer Bosch or Wix. K&N's have a bad reputation for leaks at the spot-welded nut. I also do motorcycle trackdays and I've used oem whenever possible (or HiFlow in a pinch). In fact, most race orgs have banned K&N oil filters.
