I buy all my Fujifilm gear second hand or on sale for dirt cheap. I’m a professional photographer but they doesn’t mean I don’t like to pay half for everything ha. Small size is great for destination shoots and travel. Cheers.

i got my gf a Nikon D3500 bundle from Amazon last year for around 600 for her 30th bday. we were spending a long weekend in moab and her old camera was stolen.

she was super excited about it and used it a bunch on the drive out there. then when we got there she realized she forgot the charger... oops

Yea that stinks. I've learned long ago to check everything when going out into the field. Learn to shoot totally manual and in RAW. You get a lot more control
with the raw file than the jpg image in post processing. Shoot 100 images a day. If you want to invest in a bigger lens get the best you can afford and then
some. Sigma 100-400. Tokina 11-16. The 50mm kit lens is pretty darn good as is the 55-200mm kit lens.

If you all dig the camera and one day want to upgrade move up to the D7200.

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
Fantastic photos, great sunset. Desert camping is one thing I have not had the chance to do. I always have stuck in head that sunset dark photo from the Eagles first album. Imagine some peyote out in the desert, but my druggie days are so far removed. Carlos Castaneda hey? :)

Canuck here, but my wifes step brother lives in Phoenix. Love the clear skies, the temps not so much. Me and 3 digit temps don’t mix well. Our last trip to visit (drove down from Vancouver), it was a hot spell with 115’s.

Last summer we had a freak heat dome here in BC. Kelowna had several days over 110F, and 40 days over 92F.

Lytton BC was 121F one day, and the next day a widlfire wiped out the entire town.

Like most of the south and west coast now, clear skies in summer is a big worry. Old days it was just good times.

What are your thoughts on this shower? It is on my short list of a couple options.

We honestly didn’t use it for years… and then remembered we had it and brought it on this trip and wondered why we haven’t been bringing it the whole time. Wash hands quick, do dishes, shower, rinse off whatever, super useful. We’ll be remembering to bring it from now on! We camp pretty remote and it’s nice to have running water anywhere we go!

Beats the nalgene pump camps we used to use for years for sure.

No electronics to worry about. Good stuff.

I think I have it down to that one or one of those battery operated small hand held pumps that you just throw in a bucket, but like you said, electronics!

I dig no batteries or 12v restrictions but either way would work. This is kind of nice as it’s already it’s own bucket and it packs down smaller than one. Food for thought, good luck!

    Just the basics
Plan a trip to Death Valley in the fall or winter. Temps will be kinder.

Very much dig this thing. Been tossing around the idea of building my own waterport style system, but I can’t stand the footprint it’d require.

People ask how we take hot showers instead of cold and we just warm some water on the cook stove in a pot and pour it into some cold for a decent mix.

We liked that the spray top on the nalgenes was a smaller and more versatile overall package, but those broke after a few years of use.
