I've seen people claim they're not great but I got them cheap as open box units from best buy and the tweeters were $88 at my local Subaru. Definitely sounds way better than the miserable shit I pulled out of my 16 year old truck lol

Nice wheels. I have the same ones but I’m getting a steering wheel shake when I break or hit about 60 mph but doesn’t happen lower or higher than that. I had the tires balanced 3 times but I get the same problem each time. Are the tires the problem. I’m using toyo open country at. Their the same ones I had on the stock rims and had no problem. Are you using center rings on the rim? Should I road force balance the tires? Any help would be appreciated.

Tacoma's are SUPER sensitive to how well the wheels are balanced. Yes you should have hub centric rings.

I would try a road force balance at your local Toyota dealer. Most of them have a special hub adapter that makes the road force balance more accurate.

My truck runs a Kenwood 905S through a kenwood 550w amp under the pass seat out to a under (driver) seat Sound Ordinance Sub and in the doors, Hybrid Audio Unity 2 way system, using Hybrid audio crossovers. Did a real nice job filling the small space. I started having issues with the driver side door mid cutting out. Turned out to be corrosion on the speaker wire.

speakers (highest quality components of a decent system) :

    upload_2022-7-14_13-54-11.jpg

    And In with the new...

Pulled the crossovers and the amp, put in a DSP unit and ran new wire. Same sub. Same door speakers. Holy. Shit. I cannot believe how much better the sound quality is. Absolutely tight at all volumes. The sub sounds suddenly twice its size.

    upload_2022-7-14_14-1-44.jpg

Previously, I had put seat risers on the front of the fronts only, to raise the thighs, which I liked a lot. Problem was that the DSP was so tall the passenger seat couldn't move but an 1 1/2". So I hit up @olecoot for a set of the rear risers, which worked a treat, and now I've restored full travel and the sound is outstanding. So there you have it, other than maintenance and front brake job, I'm all caught up on my trucks life story.

Next up, I'll need to hit up @Diabl0 about his touchscreen install (I've dabbled in the the threads) and I'm planning to go Elka 2.0 on the old bird. Stock is getting tired.

Just got my 2008 back from getting hood and roof repainted. Pretty stoked. Now to keep the freakin birds off my new paint for 30 days until I can ceramic coat it. Also used new drip mouldings.

Installed a URD MAF calibrator. Only took a spin around the block but so far I've noticed little change. I'll give it some time to calibrate. I also haven't put the included sticker on my truck yet, so that could be where the real hp gains are.

I’ve been driving without a visor for going on 2 years now due to the 2nd Gen saggy visor dilemma. Finally had enough and fixed the damn thing with 4 strategically placed zip ties, inserted/tied through drilled out holes.
Tried supergluing (if you’re wondering what the stains on the plastic are) and that was a complete waste of time.
Functions good as new now :thumbsup:27337285-B585-404D-BDDB-5A07F41BCF5C.jpg

Yo bro! Good repair. Zip ties solve a ton of issues. I changed my g2 seat covers, cushions were OK. Those metal rings are near impossible to reinstall. But if you zip tie? Changing your seat covers takes 3 hours top to bottom......

    few things here and there.

Tbh, not bad at all. I think having it hidden def restricts it a tad. I’d like more flood power, but I mean.. it’s in the bumper haha. Overall, solid 9/10. Provides a really good spotlight. Def won’t replace a 50 inch roof bar though.
