There are spots where you can park and walk to camp. I'm not as familiar with the PCB/SR area, but places like Fort Pickens in Pensacola have campgrounds. You don't technically camp ON the beach, but there are paths that lead down to the beach. It's essentially uninhabited in that area, so your beach spot is generally pretty secluded/private. I believe there is similar toward the other side of the Emerald Coast toward Apalachicola/Carabelle where you can camp and walk to the beach....but you're starting to get away from the white sand beaches at that point.

East of Panama City I believe you can in cape sand blast. Walton county has permits but I believe you can only get them if you’re a resident. And as someone mentioned, the sand here is basically like sugar. Super soft

Yep, I live in northwest FL and did this for spending money when I was in high school. People were getting stuck way back then, and now 5O years later, they still are.

Another thing we did as a prank was get some of our ultra white beach sand that looked just like sugar, go to a diner type restaurant with sugar shakers that had the little flap cover on them and replace the sugar with beach sand. I apologize if any of you ever got sand in your coffee 5O years ago. :anonymous: Unfortunately too many hurricanes causing too much damage has lead to too much debris in the sand now to pass for sugar.

Gulf County has a pay per drive... non locals get taxed.

Walton County has a locals only permit lottery... but other than that... no.

Hey all, currently in Crestview/Eglin AFB.
Driving cross country soon and want to get my rig looked over prior to that.
Any shop recommendations in the area? Especially of they have experience with a S/C 2nd Gen Tacoma.

    Cheers.

I’d probably look outside of Panama City if you can. I feel like people have moved here in droves the past year. Maybe you’ll have luck in the rural areas. I work with guys that commute to eglin from PCB and guys the commute from Crestview to eglin. They seem to like not being right near the beach, that may be an option for you? Good luck

Go by Jackson Guard office, you have to have a permit to go onto the Eglin Res. Their office is located in Niceville on hwy 85 between the Quality Inn and the Eglin Golf Course just north of John Sims Pkwy. The FB group might have better info on where and when to go, but don't go on the Res without the permit. If you're a civilian, a ticket will see you in Federal court, or if you're military, in front of your commander. There's plenty of good trails and hunting too on the Res.
