Just upgraded the front bump stops with some energy poly ones. Driver side went in smooth. Pass side not so much lol. The welded nut broke its welds unscrewing but nothing a set of locking needle nose pliers couldn’t solve. Reused the nut and got it nice and tight.

10001 is pretty cool splits off a few different directions for the dirtbike/sxs trails it goes pretty far back in along those ridges. stinks a tree was down though.

I havent been up murph creek yet but its on my list.
My brother always tells me I need to go up 10017 (porcupine) but its always been raining when we go back there and he said the first 1/4 mile of it is slide potential in dry weather let alone wet weather. My wife and I go back there once or twice a year for an afternoon and pick a new trail, last year was 10123 blind bull with the intent of hitting porcupine on the way back. Did you come in from the east side then go up or down from the north side there in alpine?

Yeah the tree as down at the top a little before it splits off for the sxs's. Murphy wasn't to bad at all. There were some trailers up there but there was a climb I was surprised they made it up, We only went about have way up before we found a camp we liked so we didn't go to the end (the pic on the dry river bed). We were in the Wind range so we came from the green river lakes area down to Pinedale to resupply then cut straight over to the Wyoming range. Took 10046 in the front range down to 10128 (part of the original Oregon trail) that was pretty cool. Then drove up. We were there for 2 days when our DC plug for the fridge broke so we headed to Alpine to see if we could find a new one. No go, so laundry and Melvin it was then headed back into the range for 2 more days. So we saw it from both sides. The road down to Alpine was dusty as hell and was busy since it was a Sunday.

Filled it with gas and it looks like replacing the gas cap fixed the problem I was having with the area getting dirty.

Removed the brand new, freshly installed plug and play URD MAF Sensor Calibrator from my truck. From the initial install I got an error code. Each time i would reset the ECU and the codes would clear for about a day before returning. Really too bad as it wasn't cheap, and does have some benefits when not in error mode. I've been in communication with Gadget via email, and he continue to imply the truck was throwing error codes before install of their part, even though it never had a code prior, and stops when the part is removed. The code is for the MAF sensor, and this part calibrates the MAF. He wants me to send it back to them (on my dime) for him to check the software. Should have just used the $ towards an actual tune. Seems like a good company with popular products, and popular on TW, but clearly even the best companies can have a faulty item delivered to their customers now and again. I know others who have installed with no issues but clearly mine is faulty. Fingers crossed they resolve the issue at no additional cost to me, but i am not hopeful considering they want me to pay to send it back for them to inspect.

I've seen others crucified on TW for saying anything bad about them, so let's see what kind of shit this post stirs.

Got home early from work today so I took off my driver side ditch mount bracket which had started to rust a couple months ago. I sanded it and repainted it with a rubber sort of rust prevention paint. (Seems to be working really good on my OEM skid plate). I'm not sure why, but my pass side has been perfectly fine, yet my driver side has failed, and it was staring at me for the past couple months so I finally did something about it. I made plenty sure to look for any transfer of rust between the hood and bracket, but I didn't see any. It prompted me to do a once over of my paint and I noticed a nice door ding in my pass suicide door and a couple spots of failing paint on my roof...:annoyed: It's always something

Admittedly it's a bit of a stretch, but the driver side would be close to the brake booster brake fluid reservoir, it's possible you're getting some fluid atomization that's eating the paint on that ditch light bracket and causing to fail and rust.

I'd check and maybe replace your reservoir cap and replace your fluid if it's more than 2 years old, it's possible it's got enough water in it that some of the fluid is evaporating out with it.

Again, a stretch but it's the only reasoning I can come up with for why the drivers would fail and not the passengers.

Huh.... I never would have thought about that... I've heard plenty of people saying the paint on their Cali-Raised ditch brackets failing (which is what mine are). However I will look closer! I will say that the part where the rust failed was ON TOP of the hood which I equated to being more so in the sun and elements (the part where the brackets bend over the hood) and there is no rust on the under side of the hood or surrounding parts.

In retrospect that sounds a lot more reasonable.

You might want to swap out the nut and bolt as the needle nose might be insufficient to take it apart next time.

I had my roof and hood repainted last week. Already posted pictures. They look fantastic. Yesterday morning I walked outside at around 6:30 and was a little shocked at what I saw. Looks like they did not use enough masking on my fender. Returning it today and hope they can fix this without needing to do more painting on the fender and flare.

Haven't posted in awhile. Nothing special. Just installed some inexpensive bed lights. They seem pretty good so far. Time will tell...

Bummer! It could be worse though!

Check this unbelievable BS out. I had just returned from a trip up north and as we pulled into the driveway I noticed a tile had fallen off the roof and crashed into the passenger side fender.

I just had most of the sun damage repainted....

    :frusty:

    Picture doesn't do it justice....

Yes the body guy had it fixed in 15 minutes with a little paint thinner and polish. Hope you can get that done cheap. I would suggest a homeowners claim but deductibles have gone through the roof. If you have comprehensive on your car policy it may be covered with no deductible. That covers hail and projectile damage. Comprehensive has provided several free windshields for me over the years. I rarely have collision insurance but I put comprehensive on every vehicle.

It's been awhile since I looked at my coverage specifics but do have full coverage. Might be worth a shot looking into!

Glad you got yours all figured out! Nothing like a fresh new paint job
