trying to see if anyone has any good pics/ideas of mounting pods for night lighitng and or reverse. id prefer to use them as just night light option so i wouldnt have to be in reverse the whole time. this time my rear bumper and id like to wire them to the left and right rear farthest on the outside of the bumper

You could drill holes in the tubing and use stud mounted light pods, get a switch that'll fit in one of the blank switch holes on your dash and wire them to that. I did that on my last tacoma with flushing lights installed into the rear bumper and really liked it. I would do your setup with four light pods so there's plenty of light, my two pods worked but I would have liked more light.

So for wiring use an add a fuse on the interior fusebox (I would do a hot at all times fuse), run that to the switch as power, tap into the climate control harness for switch back lighting, find any old ground for your ground wire to the switch, the switch output power to the lights would get run through the large grommet near the brake booster out into the engine bay, then just zip tie it along the hard brake lines that goes to the rear wheels and splice it however is needed to the lights, for the lights ground just run the wire to the frame.

I think I made a handwriting diagram of this wiring if you want I can try to find it and take a picture.

You don’t have to drill. You can buy mounts for tubes

I’ve done it to my tundra

Diode dynamics has a backup pod light kit that’s backlit red, using 1” or 2” lights. You can probably fit that

i don’t know if it’s worth it to make a drain hole

If it's still welded shut I wouldn't compromise the tubes.
