    Hello all,
It is time again to tune-up my truck, and I was wondering if anyone has experience using NGK BKR5EGP spark plugs in lieu of the OE recommended copper NGK BKR5EYA11 ones in the 2RZ engine?
I installed the OE BKR5EYA11 along with the NGK wireset the last time, and they have performed perfectly fine. But, I have a new set of NGK BKR5EGP plugs laying around that were purchased for a friend's car and never used. I've cross referenced the part number thru RockAuto as well as NGK.com, and they list them as a direct fit, but I hesitate to use anything other than mfr. specified plugs.
RockAuto refers to the BKR5EGP's as platinum tipped, while NGK just refers to them as "G-Power," but they seem interchangable otherwise, and hint at a longer service life.
    I'd appreciate any thoughts.
    Thanks in advance!

As an Auto Parts Specialist for more than 17 years, here's my advice; don't waste your time & money. Keep to the OE on this one.

You have the platinum plugs already, run it. I would. It will not cause any issue.

Thank you codeseven. I won't be out any $ since I have them on hand already. But the reason I have them is they did not work at all in the friend's car. Installed but never fired as they caused it to not start... and this is not the 1st time I've seen platinums do this.
