EDIT: Just noticed the compressor is currently out of stock. There are other good options around the same price.

 

My co-worker just had that exact compressor delivered for his Tundra about 30 minutes ago. Looked like a nice little unit. He just went back into our warehouse to test it out and said it seemed like a good little unit.

I have one of these, never had to use it yet, but always have it in my truck just in case. I charge it every few months.

 

I've used it a lot more than I'd ever expected to. Mostly helping out other people. It's earned a permanent spot in my truck right alongside the tire repair kit and jumper cables. Works great; couldn't be happier with it, especially at that price point.

 

I like the way this thing installs and its form factor is 10/10. But the quality of the camera doesn't feel like its actually 4k. If you needed a plate number off someone like 20-30 yards away you cant screencap and zoom in without it becoming too fuzzy to read IME


As far as suggestions go:
The first things for the truck I got were a tonneau cover, tire repair kit, deflator kit, inflator, battery pack to jump the vehicle, all weather mats, and seat covers//back seat hammock for the dogs. I'd probably suggest a battery pack or inflator as the first first thing to get, just in case.

But the list goes on and on. I really like having the dash cam, AVS rain guards for the dogs (can vent the truck a bit more), color matched paint pens, bed mat and bed light set. If you ever want to get Molle panels for the truck bed, might be better off with the mattgecko LED setup

 

I'm electronically dumb but always wondered how these work. Do they record all day and get sent to phone? I guess you can rewind through recordings?

 

Typically dash cams have an onboard card and you can set it up to like 1 or 5 minute intervals for the files. They'll loop and delete the old ones as it goes, hard saving data that is triggered by its programming. Like if you get in a wreck and the camera still goes, it should save the file for the wreck.

As to your money buy a 64oz yeti

 

The data is saved on the SD card and it writes over old data when it runs out of space. I have a 64gig card, so it will have 8 - 10 days worth of data on it. This varies depending on how much you drive. If you take a very long trip in one day, then it may only hold two days worth of data. You can view the files on your phone through the app, or plug the device into your computer via the USB cable.
