Leaf pack recommendations

thank you man appreciate that’s all I wanted to know I’m kind of new to the off-road world trying to learn everything I can

 

Chevy 63 swap, cheapest and the best results out of any other bolt in packs.

 

got about 2.5 inch lift in the front and a voodoo full length bed rack and a a overland tent snd some running boards I probably need the stage 3 as I want it to sit level all the time

 

Anyone running these shackles? https://www.bayareametalfab.com/2005-2022-Toyota-Tacoma-HD-Shackle_p_91.html They any good? there a pretty good price if I had the bigger budget I’d order the archive ones is either this or thinking of getting the archive bushing kit and a set of new factory shackles without the bushing kit only 25 bucks so about the same 100 dollar price range as doing it myself thanks guys

 

You don't need new shackles. The aftermarket shackles don't give you any advantage other than being greaseable. If you ask Archive they'll tell you the same.

As mentioned above you don't need the extra shackles unless you just want the beef. If you don't have a shock relocation with longer travel shocks the stock shackles with the rubber bushings are just fine.

When I did my shock relocation I got new factory shackles part# 04005-65104 and the Energy Suspension bushing kit just for the shackle bushings

I thought the bushings in the bamf gave you a tiny bit more articulation than stock no? Also I priced it out since new bushings and new oem shackles(heard replacing the oem was a hard job) come in at roughly almost the same 100 bucks so I figured for 100 you get a beefy shackle and the aftermarket bushings already pre installed it seems to
Make more sense, and the bamf in less than half the price of the archive ones

 

Unless you do a shock mount relocation and add longer shocks I don't think anything will give you more articulation since the OEM shocks are the limiting factor for articulation as your truck is now. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

 

Ah, yes for that price it does make sense, but like I said its not really needed. Extra articulation does not come from shackles or hangers, it comes from longer shocks and leaf springs that make use of that extra shock stroke. Shock length is what limits down travel. That's why people do shock relocations, it moves the mounting points to allow a longer shock.

I heard in the video from archive unless I misunderstood that the factory bushing limits articulation a tiny bit because it is limited to the rotation of the factory bushing it’s not very much droop gain at all but it is a tiny something I think, unless I’m wrong and I misunderstood the whole thing and the only benefit is better bushings in that case I’ll leave the factory shackles and bushingshttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6iSQXn6nr24
