    Good evening!

I hope I am posting in the right place. Im new here. I am going to try to post as many pictures and links as possible so that maybe someone can help me. I have a 2022 Tacoma SR.

So before I did anything I read through Nitoris OEM fog light install guide several times.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/nitoris-oem-sr-foglight-mod.451495/

I purchased my own switch from Amazon this switch in particular.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07WDVYCKL

And I purchased some diode dynamics SS3’s with the backlights.

I was pre wired so I opted to use taps to tap in to all of the wires I need. here is how it all looks. The switch instructions specifically say to hook both the white and green wire to the positive, red to the relay, and black to negative. See below

    0C685614-ADE2-46DA-9EC1-150469455A7D.jpg 9BA6FAED-2F6C-4287-8AE5-371462F15287.jpg

The switch itself lights up so I assume I atleast did that part right but the fog lights dont turn on. Engine housing is connected to the relay and the fog lights are connected to the engine housing and the relay is plugged in to the fuse box all according to nitoris instructions. But still when I press the switch the fog lights dont turn on.

    5F05FC0B-647E-4A2A-8DC7-FE3DFF2DB9DD.jpg

now, i dont have the fog lights back light wired up. I didnt want to tape in to the headlight wires and @Puppypunter has graciously offered to mail me some plug and play adapaters for the backlights.

My question is why wont the fog lights turn on? Did I miss a step? Is it because the backlight isnt wired? Am I FUBAR?

    Headlights on when you try?

It's how OE wiring works, which sounds like you have used.

Not quite what I meant. OE fogs only work when low beams are on. So when you test fogs, do you turn on low beams first?

This is exactly why I ended up just doing an aftermarket setup. Much easier and you can have fogs on whenever you want.

OP, you might be lucky that you haven't fried the MBECU, yet.
Maybe this will help. Parking lights need to be on also for fogs to energize.

The Blue wire of the fogs needs to make ground via the switch.

Yes, or the white with black stripe on the cargo switch harness.

Since you are removing the switch, test it. Verify which wire needs fused power. Ground the black, then place power to the green without depressing the switch-verify no lights are on in the switch. You can use a 9vDC battery for the test.
The reason for this to verify what type of switch it is:

You can also test the system for correct function by placing the fog blue wire to ground. Turn parking lights ON. If the fogs are installed they illuminate. (with engine ON)

So this diagram actually would say to connect the red wire to white stripe on the cargo light and green to wire 26?

No, especially if you haven't tested the switch wiring.

Ok so this morning i tried this method, disconnected green wire, added a ring terminal and bolted it to the dash.

parking lights on, engine on, still unable to turn on fog lights when depressing the switch.
I tried testing it as you said and the red wire i believe is the one that needs fused power.

This may be a dumb question but before i do any more cutting and terming of these wires should I put the truck in drive to activate the fogs? Will it work parked with parking lights on?
