Nice. What did you use to extend the media port? I want to get a 3TPAM but they have you tapping into the power port to make the USB's charge only. I want to move my phone out of the cupholder and be able to plug it into the USB on the mount and have my Android Auto work. I hate my phone being in the cupholder with the wire running to the current media port. Looks like junk. Plus it wastes a cupholder.

Personally, I use the TTM and use a juggernaut mount on it for my phone, but the 12" usb cable running to it isn't the cleanest looking option to charge it. I'm still out a cupholder bc the front-left one has become kind of a junk container for my leatherman and other stuff lol

This is what I used to relocate the media port. It plugs right into the back of my head unit, I've got a 2020.

    https://m.aliexpress.com/item/2255800717879419.html

As you can see it terminates in a female USB A. I then used this USB extension (male USB A to female USB A) to reach it to the center console.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B078LRSZDB

I will take a look at the 3TPAM, not sure what they've got going on under there but imagine its probably just power not data but perhaps could be modified if you can find the space to drill a new hole.

From what I understand, but haven't experimented, you can't use a USB hub to enable multiple media ports, so for now my others are just for charging

Additionally, after relocating the media port I used this cable to connect the OEM USB port on the dash to a power outlet I installed near the driver side fuse panel.

    https://m.aliexpress.com/item/2255801133109171.html

It connected to the cable I removed from the back of the head unit that was running to the OEM USB port.

Wow! Your undercarriage is super clean. Do you clean it regularly? I feel like I’m being negligent on my part. Mine looks like hell. You’ve got a nice setup there!

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I'm not sure how the dual USB ports are wired in the 3TPAM. It would be ideal if they were 2 individual USB's, not combined power ports. I would like to make 1 USB the media port and the other a charging port for the wife. It would be awesome if they could be removed from their housing and another USB end could be clipped in. That way you could pull the current media port from the dash, connect an extension cable and clip the other end into the new accessory mount. Then take the USB you removed from the new accessory mount and install it where you removed the original media port and turn it into a charging port splicing into the power port right next to it. It absolutely won't work that way, because nothing in life is that easy.

Using a Motorola MA1 in my Outback to have wireless AA. So nice to jump in the vehicle and not have to plug it in. Up till now I was using one of those magnetic cables.

Remember you have two charging ports in the center armrest. Just plug a cable in there and have it long enough for your wife in the passenger seat.

I'm going to relocate the MA1 to the truck when it comes in. My hope is that it works well in the truck, and if I need to charge it on long trips, I'll throw it on the wireless charging pad.

I've charged wirelessly before. I don't have the truck yet. I suppose i would look to mod the one in the truck if that were the case. That would be a bit of a disappointment if so. Would have to research it.

No, don't really clean underneath much. However, it did just rain and I currently stick to main roads.

But where I'm going......I don't need roads

The dual USBs on the 3TPAM are power only wired in together tapped into the 12v cig lighter on the center console. For my install I removed the CIG lighter and installed a round 3.0 USB charger with battery read out in the CIG lighter position.

    This one-

    https://amzn.to/3QNrFTe

No issues works fine. You may have to open hole just a hair for it to sit in there well.

For the media port I also used this

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078LRSZDB

and relocated the port into the glove box as I don't really use it and wanted the switch space. You could easily relocate the media port to the 3TPAM with some minor fab work. I have done a decent amount of work to my 3TPAM for the remote radio connection via an extension to an RJ45 coupler and magnetic mic install. Here is the install video so you have an idea of the 3TPAM working space and what you can hide behind it.
