    Already have a 65"

Even still it's too low to cover if we have the TV at the ideal viewing height. I really didn't want the TV halfway up the wall like so many seem to do.

It's not a big deal. We've dealt with it like that for two years. Just frustrating every time we watch a movie to see that dumb thing there and trying to figure why they put it so damn high. While I'm painting the wall anyway it's a good time to tackle it.

Getting harder to find this stuff for a good price anymore but it's still out there. I just bought some 120 year old old-growth fir timbers from a grain elevator that came down this summer. A few 12"x12"x12' timbers with very tight old grain. He's resawing it all for me and it will become some countertops. The outside has some great character. Planning to replace the shitty laminate countertops in my Airbnb with it.

He also had a ton of oak slabs as well. Grabbed a few. Fir and oak were about $1.50/bf.

I made a 2" thick yellow cedar countertop for my laundry room that basketweaves around the corner

I went to order a couple new HVAC air filters and noticed Homie Depot is having half off 4 or more. I got 4, may get another 4 but TBD. :spending:

If you're going to go whole hog and put a slab of wood as the desk top, go with a curly or birdseye maple. Or a burled walnut.
Here's a thought, and I know it's kind of passe to mention, but why not paint the outlet and outlet cover to match your wall cover? That way it blends in more?

Wall is going to be black and I have some black outlets to swap in so it won't be super noticeable.

Anyway... I have the outlet moved 3.5" down and the drywall patched. It's, at the very least, below the top of the tv. You can still see it when you're standing but that's pretty minor.

    Paint goes on today.

So I'm in a pickle, I like having the tree in the yard but 1 is enough. How to I stop it sprouting without hurting/killing the actual tree?

I've also noted, down the line a bit, a root is exposed and there's little sprouts coming off there too.

How's the rest of the tree doing? Sometimes trees sucker in response to stress or sickness. Some trees will sucker if they've been grafted to a different root stock. But, I don't think that's the case here. Other than doing what you can to make sure the top is healthy, there is not much to be done with suckers except keep cutting them down.

I'm getting quotes for a slab for a 20' x 40' shop and the cheapest one I've gotten so far is $42K. Four years ago is was priced at $14K. I can't believe the prices. Is this what concrete is going for? Or am I getting high bids because they don't really want the work?

Might want to check what state you live in too. That might be 80-90% of the cost increase right there...

For reference, I recently had part of my driveway replaced, and extended to a patio behind my house. 2 trucks + 2 yards of concrete. Just under 10K.

They put (some) rebar in, and broom finished it. 4" thick.

Sounds like your new quote is high. Unless Cali prices are that much higher than other parts of the country.

$10/sq ft here. Maybe a bit more if you want rebar, but its generally not required here.
