I do like the night lights setting. It's kind of fun to sit in the dark and see whats going on.

Does your light have the atmosphere settings? Mine has lightning storm and cloudy day where the light dims by 15% and gets brighter on and off.

I wish. Mine are cheap, they follow a set timer with no variation.

They cycle through 8 settings: "early morning" starts at 10% for a couple hours, then it eventually ramps up to 100% between noon and 2 PM. It cycles back down to 50% by evening. Finally it goes to blue moonlight between 7:30 and 10:30, then off.

I just pulled 10 complete plants out, trimmed the remaining jungle val, Amazon sword, and java Fern, and it still looks slightly overgrown.

Wow, I had no idea that once it takes off, it freaking takes off.

This is my 135g fresh. It's been running for 10 years. Had a lot of fish in this one. Currently doing angels, red tail shark, clown loach, tiger barbs, giant zebra danios and assorted tetras. I just changed my plants so it looks good. I brought the tank home and it fit the area so well I built into the wall. All 3 sides visible. Little trap door on the side so I can get in and do maintenance.

Another greenery slaughter day. 20+ plants ripped and tossed into the compost pile, another 15 or so trimmed back, taking a break before deciding what else needs to be cut. My Amazon sword is getting to be a hair under 4 feet, which is impressive considering the tank is only 24 inches tall.

CO2 is no bullshit eh? Only luck I've ever had is with banana plants. I ordered 12-15 neon tetras to brighten up my tank. Should be here tuesday.

You're not joking. CO2 puts the tank on steroids. If it didn't also help with algae control I would have started to dial it back by now.

Nice! I have a 20g reef w/a 5g refugium. An algae outbreak killed the majority of my corals to the point that I took the rocks out and scrubbed them of the algae. I bought a new RO unit even though my phos and nitrates were basically 0. Hoping that the old RO was the cause. Even turned my light cycle down to 6 hours a day. F'n algae sucks!

Poor fish got neglected these past two weeks. :anonymous:

Tank was in dire need of a trim, they were running out of room to swim.

    PXL_20221231_203756034.jpg

It's a start. I probably need to shave it back a little more. Ok, a lot more. The big green monster on the left is taking over.

The shutoff valve started leaking on my can today.:mad::mad:

Fortunately it only leaks in the closed position; its still stable when running. Could have been a lot worse. Still that's 25 bucks gone and will be a laborious part swap.

Hobbies are supposed to be fun, right? :burp:

Thanks to a new RO system my little reef has been saved from hair algae and I've started adding corals again. The RO system I bought from Home Depot wasn't up to reef standards.

Just realized I have some big bristleworms in the reef. Picked up a Coral Banded Shrimp to eat him. Funny how things in the reef never go as planned. Got this? Get that. lol

Just stumbled upon this thread. I’ve got a 180 upstairs and a 110 sump feeding it from the basement. Great fun!

Dude, that is beautiful and awesome. I can barely keep my 2 freshwater tanks rolling, but my fish live forever so I must be doing something right. Quite a setup there.

Love your short-haired Brussels avatar. We've had 3 roughs, only one left, a rescue left we got from a local shelter. He's dumb, but sweet. First girl lived to 16.5 years and was as sweet the day we said goodbye as when we got her as a pup. We had a smaller male that thought he was a big dog, but he developed an auto-immune disorder that he kicked for several years. It came back with a vengeance when he was about 12. All great dogs, sweet temperaments. Well, I guess I've never met a bad dog, though.

Thanks! It’s a lot of money to keep this thing looking good though and a good bit of luck!

We have 4 griffs now and man, they are the best companions. I do love all dogs though. I dread the day we have to say goodbye to any of them.
