Hello. I just took delivery of my 2022 TRD Pro in Magnetic Gray Metallic 8/22/22 and I’ve got just over 200 miles in her. Loving the truck so far EXCEPT for some ‘minor’ complaints.
1.) the transmission seems to be always confused when you’re moving right around 40-50 mph. It doesn’t mind however, when driving around 60-70mph. ‍♂️
2.) as the title of this thread, the hood doesn’t seem to have that sound deadening / fire retardant liner underneath? Do y’all’s 3rd gen Tacoma didn’t come with one either? Checked our 5th gen 4Runner Trail Premium and it does have one.

I don’t think any came with one. Everything under the hood is covered in plastic already….

I mean, open the hood and all you see is plastic….. sounds so sad actually writing it

    Oh look, another mod....
There's a guy on this site, I forget who it is. But he used a heavy duty blanket/sound deadening pad that he got from Harbor Freight. It was specially designed to deaden sound and can take high temp's.

He even posted pictures of installed. He said he had to put two layers, but he did notice a big sound reduction after he installed it.

Edit: I found something on Amazon (You can buy errrrrrrrrythang on that site):
