Hello everyone... i am glad to see my thread is still going after all of these years!

 

Taco build version 3

 

Just picked up my first Tacoma yesterday. Already have the side mirror turn signals swapped out, windows tinted, dash cam installed, rear license plate light harness installed, factory decals replaced with matte black, and ceramic coated the paint. I had the TRD exhaust added before I picked it up. I love this site.

 

I like! Where did you get the matte decals? And did you black out the chrome badges? What was done with respect to tinting? Just the front windows? I would like to make the front emblem dark... Have you researched that at all? Looks great!

The truck came with the blackout package so it was already like that.

The tinting, the back windows come tinted 20% I think. I had him do the same to the front windows, and then went one step darker on the back door windows. I left the slider as it was tinted stock.

I have a Laminx overlay coming for the grill emblem. That should be the end of the chrome once it gets here.

yeah! it has been a while. I have been so busy developing my websites that I have not had time for much of anything else. I hope all is well with you too.

 

I went out on a trip today and got some nice pics.

 

Provide me the source of the overlay, and nobody gets hurt. Sweet - is this some kind of gunsmoke lanim-x overlay or what? I'd really like to know. Total overall effect is nice. You say you just peeled the old stickers off? You didn't have to put anything on them? Please post a picture when you get the emblem under control.

Well overlay is a no go. I bought the one for the rav4. It is much smaller than the emblem. I did find this on YouTube though. Looks like it can be done on the Tacoma.

Time to add my 2019 DCSB OR to the mix. Six months of ownership and I've already built it out beyond my wildest dreams. Having so much fun learning new skills and creating my dream machine.
