Thanks for reading...I and some college dorm buddies have a trout fishing trip planned in the early Fall in southern Missouri. I will be driving from Texas, going through Arkansas both ways, up and back. Map directions indicate the quickest route through Arkansas is east on I-30 from Texarkana to Little Rock, then north on US-65/AR-287/AR-235/62 through Flippin, then a few lesser roads until across the Missouri state line.

I don't necessarily want to drive the quickest route. I want to drive the prettiest route. I want to experience the nature in Arkansas, spending two nights camping each way, coming and going. I'd like to take a different route back too!

Can you Arkansas guys recommend four places to camp? Two going, two coming. Something scenic. I'm not overlanding this trip, but something that gets me an Arkansas experience is awesome. Thanks!

Can you recommend a campsite that gets me away from other campers and ATV/UTV activity?

Lots of beautiful places in AR especially in the fall. Highway 23 ( the pig trail ) is a great drive. I will always recommend the Buffalo National River Area. Lots of NF roads to camp on all over. It will probably be deer season at that time so wear some orange if you are out and about in the woods.

Looks like we want to take roads in the western part of Arkansas. What route(s) of interest are best there?
