Haha mostly the yuppies I’m tired of as far as people go, the true massholes mind their business. Lack of public land is tough for me after working and living on nat’l forest land for years. My girl is still rocking her turquoise plate haha it’s a pain too because my street is resident parking only. Besides I’m out of green chile so it’s about time I head back :D

Just about chile season too so your timing might be perfect. Farmington is alright, my favorite part about it is it's proximity to Southwestern CO and Southeastern UT. Plenty to do/explore in a 3hr radius of there.

    Good evening NM!

Its been awhile since I have posted here as I had moved from NM, but am back for a few months in ABQ. Am curious if there is a shop in town yall would recommend for CAB mount chop and suspension stuff.

Also, anyone planning any trips soon? I need to get into some mountains somewhere!

Got to use my truck for work!

I work for the state environment department and spent the last three weeks doing wetland surveys in northern New Mexico. Got to take my personal vehicle since we were camping 4-5 nights a week. It rained 13 of the 16 days we were out. CVT Mt hood roof top tent did great. The OVS 270 awning was key. Everyone hung out under it most nights. Got to see some beautiful places and even some local wildlife.

Funny thing is we drive through this traffic jam of ~200 bison and I now realize there was a herd of elk on the hill above.

Hey there - Shameless plug for my new tuning business. I just started tuning Tacomas with Overland Tailor Tuning (OTT).
I am located in Albuquerque, but may venture out and do tuning events in other areas of the state as time goes on if there is enough interest.
I am happy to answer questions and discuss what I have to offer.
If you would like your truck to have more low end torque, drive better, shift better, stop gear hunting, and feel the way you expect it to, please give me a shout. Thanks!

Ugh, so sorry. We don’t have files for 4Runners back that far; 4Runner options start at 2015. Sorry about that.

Sucks, been trying to get this thing tuned for a while. No one seems to have the files for the 1GR-FE for the 4Runner. I reached out to someone else on here tuning 2nd gen Taco's and they said the files are not compatible due to differences in the transmission or something. Anyway, if you happen to be able to do it eventually, let me know. Or if you know of anyone local who would do it. Thanks!

Yeah I believe the TCU not being unlocked that creates many of the issues with getting something done that is actually an improvement. I will def keep an eye out for you and DM you if I hear of anyone who can help you out.

Do you use HPTuners? I already have a tuner & tune/credits from JustDSM but am about to install a supercharger

I just ordered the latest version of HPT this past Tuesday. They have a new MPV3 that just came out; supposed to be here early next week.

    MPVI3….not MPV3.

    ‘22 Lunar Rock Trail Edition
Hey folks! Glad I stumbled upon this thread. I’ve had a number of Tacomas over the years but recently just found myself into a ‘22 Lunar Rock Trail Edition that I couldn’t be happier about. Hope to meet a like minded crew around the Albuquerque area as that’s where my wife and I recently relocated to. I’ve read some of the hostility in the thread towards newcomers, but I’ll be upfront in saying that’s us and we’ve moved here from Tucson. We will be here for at least two years for work and hope to explore and see all we can while we are here. So far, it’s been great and we’ve met some great people and experienced some great things. Balloon Fiesta was a pretty cool, and much better than I had anticipated (we are late 30’s so wasn’t sure what we would think).

Anyhow, hope to meet a few of you over time and if anyone has good recommendations for camping/exploring/hiking/weekend road trips I’m always game. Already visited SF and we loved it. Still trying to decide exactly where we want to live and weighing renting vs buying in this crazy time, but for now we are in Nob Hill for the next couple months while we iron that out. Hope to see some of you all out there and if I can ever lend anyone a hand with their Taco, lemme know! Happy to help and learn and shoot the shit.

Hey there! I saw your post on the LR thread and thought “I should DM this guy.”
I run a tuning business here and would love to talk to you about what a good tune can do for your truck; guarantee to put a bigger smile on your face than you already have. I also have noticed some of the hostility that you mention, and don’t understand that.
Anyway, give me a shout sometime if you’d like to know more about what I have to offer, or just to shoot the breeze about things to do here and places to go.
I hope you and your wife enjoy your time here!

This thread is dead and I’ve had a hell of a time finding people to wheel with from ABQ. There are a lot of tacomas in town, but TW isn’t where they all are.

I spend nearly every other weekend off-roading and camping. A fair bit in southern UT and Colorado. Going to Moab for the Tacomaworld ROCKtober therapy meetup on the 20th. Wife and I have a Canyonlands trip the 29th.

always psyched for a meet up beer somewhere or shorter local off-road trips.
