I was trying to contact my wife… she worked in DC at the time… cell phone traffic clogged the network. Finally, I reached her, she didn’t have a clue what was happening. I told her to turn around and go home… I asked her do not cross the bridge into DC… she argued with me until she saw the smoke form the Pentagon from the GW Pkwy.

 

Ever wonder why someone would argue at a time like that?

My buddy used to commute into DC on his motorcycle. He said getting out of DC that day he was riding across the green spaces and sidewalks.

My dad was working in the Pentagon at the time. His office had been in the spaces where the plane hit, but they moved for whatever renovation was being done at the time. My mom was flipping out trying to get a hold of him.

Just a jaw-dropping morning all around.

 

absolutely… I didn’t ask my wife to turn around… I was, how you say in polite society? I yelled at her… do not go into DC… turn the eff around and go home!!!!! It wasn’t until she saw the smoke from the Pentagon, despite my informing, did she turn around.

 

Damn, I thought we were the same age. I had just started high school..

With many aches & pains. I'm actually only working 3 days a week now. Tuesdays thru Thursdays. Every weekend is a 4 day weekend for me

 

I'm with you on the aches and pains. My knees sound like pepper grinders at times. And just for fun some other random joint will join in on occasion. I'm actually considering hiring out the grass cutting because the back yard is so steep.

 

hey, he's over there with 5th Marines. I lived there for a bit with recon co, 5th marines in the early 90s. I hated 1stSgt hill I believe it was called. Even had a Hmmwv roll over coming down it.

 

I did that for the summer of 2020 and it was so freaking nice to not have to deal with mowing the lawn.

 

A little late but. I was at Quantico at HQMC Marsh Center. We watched it all go down with a lot of reports of other incidents or rumors (bad info early on as someone else said). But everything shut down and my buddy and I had to drive up to the Pentagon to pick up our visiting General we had dropped off that morning. I dropped him off at the hotel to pack his bags for him and I met the general outside pentagon city mall and we took him to Andrews to fly down to activate the Marine reserves. It was crazy to see the pentagon like that and the roads empty the next day. 2 weeks later I went down to dover and in full dress escorted a DIA member home to her family in Alexandria. It was very somber because people on the roads knew who we were with escorts and everything. I was just a staff member at the time, but I sure did a lot of escorting to the think tanks and hard sites during that time. It was my fault for being certified at BSR, HRP, and the first group of CCIs that were under the martial arts program under Urso.

 

I'm being cheap about it. I know what I used to charge when I had my company and it just seems rediculous to pay what they're asking for a five minute postage stamp lawn.

 

We should do a car detailing day soon before it gets cold!

That’s a horrible idea. What time?

 

Good afternoon ladies and gents. I am in the process of clearing out some stuff i no longer need and thought of y'all with these. I have a harbor freight vibratory tumbler, the larger model. Its been lightly used. I would say total time in use maybe a day total. Works well, and i have a box of coarse walnut shell media as well as some of the pyramid rust cutting media. $120 for the tumbler and media. I dont know where the hose went, but its easily available at hardware stores.

Here is the link for the tumbler: I also have a 30 liter ultrasonic cleaner. It works well, and can do time settings up to 30 minutes and temp settings up to 80C. I changed out the cheap plastic shutoff valve for a brass one. The inside bottom has a little bit of staining on it, but nothing to affect functionality. This one has a bit more use on it than the tumbler, i would say between all the 30 minute cycles it has been used for a few days total. One nice thing is once it gets up to temp, it stays hot for a long time if the lid is kept on. After that point, the heater shuts off again until needed. This thing is a monster, and is quite loud. But that is to be expected with an ultrasonic of this size. I have a little bit of general purpose cleaning solution, as well as two full bottles of brass cleaning solution. Those will be included as well as power cord and drain hose. $200 for the ultrasonic and solutions.

If anyone is interested in either, just send me a message. I figured people may want these to polish brass ammo casings or maybe the ultrasonic to clean parts. Both have been well cared for. Willing to do a combo deal if someone is interested in both. More pics available on request. If no movement on here by Wednesday, ill toss them on craigslist too.
