I just leave them. I took them out the first couple of winters because I had read you should. After that I got lazy and just left them in. They are still going strong over ten years later. I don't remember how much I paid for them, but I see some on Amazon for around $30

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
You'd be surprised. It was 82 last week, high of 56 one day this week. That lake helps tremendously (especially with snow) but we have a north wind now. That other big lake, that doesn't get warm, also effects the temps. If it wasn't for our politicians, I'd recommend everyone live here. It is a beautiful area.

I seen a greenhouse with exhaust fans. The worker told me the fans will kick on at certain temperature, and at certain time.

Majority of them has pop out vent, like your.

Venting. Temperatures (inside and out). Humidity. Screens. Etc all comes down to the plants you are growing. A cold weather crop starting greenhouse is not at all close to, say, a greenhouse growing orchids and vanilla beans. For example.

The professional built greenhouse I helped design. The worker walk me through the place and gave me an education on greenhouse. I forgot most of the lesson. They did say the plants will tell you what they need.

At first the greenhouse at that size was a learning experience. The worker used to walk inside, get dizzy, light headed, then needed fresh air. They only had 1 worker passed out. Then they had to get monitor to detect air quality. When the air quality was safe the fans will go on.

I learned a lot talking with them. I believe they said they owned 3 greenhouse. Since my idea worked on the 3rd greenhouse the 4th was being built with my ideas in mind. The 5th would be underground if sponsor are willing. They can't handle the financial load alone.

What do you mean "design"? How could you design something you know so little about?
Light headed from too much CO2 I bet, which plants LOVE.
    What is your specific idea?

My inputs were, insulated panel, solar power for the heat, thermostat control exhaust fan, CO2 monitors that controls the fans. actuator control vent windows. Its been years since I worked with them. I forgot some of the inputs.

They wanted me to help with the underground greenhouse. Manual labor and fresh idea are always welcome.

My idea was to use electric actuator on the roof vents for the underground greenhouse. Lift half of the roof up.

The owner told me I have great ideas but he's going to go broke.

We could have a freeze any time now, so I'm working on getting any remaining tender stuff that's not in the greenhouse harvested. Got the last of the corn in the freezer today. Tomatoes are on the list for tomorrow.

My young Gala apple tree produced for the first time this year.
    IMG_2330.jpg

My other apple tree has been producing for a few years now and has a good crop. Problem is they are still very green on the shady side of the apples. If it freezes will it hurt them? If I pick them now will they finish getting ripe? I'm still fairly new to growing apples as you can probably guess.

My other idea was to have the roof pop up then slide off to one side. This way the roof is like a canopy.

I think everyone is the same. Ideas exceeding their budgets.

I may add a greenhouse at some point. Right now, I am a bit tired of home type projects.

    Our garden was huge success.

The only real failure was onions from seed. We used short day onion seeds (duh!!!) Not enough fertilizer, etc.......tiny little bulbs. Tasted ok but no bigger than a walnut. Here we need long day onions, strongly. No option. I just wasn't thinking. Why they even sell the seeds here is odd as well.

One thing I learned was the greenhouse has to go in a direction the sun travels, to get the most sunlight. Something like this. It been awhile.

    I've seen pearl onions locally.

I never knew this. I looked at the onions I plant, Clear Dawn, and they are long day onions. Which is good because I live in Northern Wyoming.

Excellent. I may look for those. Sweet or ?

The other thing I always thought onions didn't need much care. Seems like they pretty heavy feeders.
