Tired of Toyota dealership finding expensive work that really doesn't need to be done. Anyone have a reco for an honest mechanic in Orange County. Close to Irvine/NB would be great. 2008 TRD Sport. Thanks in advance!!

I’ve used bymar brake and tire, they’re a straight forward shop.

In Costa Mesa both Harbor Auto and Fitzgerald’s have proven themselves on my vehicles.

Any transmission specialists in the same area, or beyond? I need a trans flush and I don't trust dealers, but I also know that there's a specific process for these "sealed" transmissions.

Just following up on this thread. Due for service, 165,000 miles. Not going back to the dealer. Two years ago they said I needed a new battery - it is still going strong. Also said I needed a rear main seal, not a sign of leakage yet. Just preventative they said. About a year ago said I needed a new steering rack and misc other suspension parts and an alignment for several thousand dollars. No problem with any of that to this day. Tire wear is perfect. At last service, had them replace TP sensors at a ridiculous price. That failed immediately when I got home. Took 3 trips back to get them to get it right. I suspect that, while they had charged me for 5 sensors, they didn't do the spare since it is a pain to take in and out.

Anyway, I am fed up with them and need a good, honest indie to get my next service and go over everything honestly. Recommendations PLEASE!

Any chassis mechanic recommendations in the Corona or Lake Elsinore area? Thank you!
