Does the cargo come on with proximity?

If switch left on DOOR they do. Some have reported they do not, but it may be programming. Most report they do. I've done a "few" and they do. You'd be bypassing switch selection by tapping into the violet wire.

It's possible, but you will probably lose the fading in and out if you wire to the SPod (assuming it's enabled via trigger). I don't know much about the SPod so I can't speak on the details there.

I have the port installed LED illumination package that has 4 lights underneath the truck. From "stock" they illuminate when approaching the vehicle or when the door is open (which is what you want). When I installed the MESO puddle pods and switch, I wired the lights under the cab to function with the switch for the puddle pods. This wasn't challenging as the pods use the same two wires the lights were already tapped in to, I just had to move the taps to after the switch rather than before the switch. So now I have my lights illuminate when walking up or I can set the switch to the ON position and have the under cab lights and puddle pods illuminate on command.

Basically, if you want the fading option to stay, you'll need a switch similar to the MESO puddle pods, and you'll need to wire it up similar to the pods.

Will this cause rock lights to activate every time I manually turn on my domelights inside cabin?

If they do, then yeah, perfect solution. You could even get some fade with a dome light dimmer from oznium. The advantage it has is you can adjust the time it takes to dim off (the 8A version does, not the 2A one though). It is ground side PWM, so you need a dedicated ground. https://www.amazon.com/Oznium-Fade-Out-Dimmer-Current-Rating/dp/B07X3HNR93?crid=3O1TFJAVB9E4A&keywords=oznium+dimmer&qid=1664665061&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIxLjM3IiwicXNhIjoiMC43NSIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=oznium+dimmer%2Caps%2C103&sr=8-2-spons&th=1

Or if you want it a little easier, the one from timers.shop will also accept a ground trigger, can be adjusted for duration and for ignition to turn it off, but mainly the difference is positive side PWM so you only need one dedicated wire.

He will need a relay anyway if he wants any kind of amperage or just to be safe. Those dimmers are the relay as well. But ultimately it’s the OPs ECU, so wire it direct to that purple wire if you want.

Yeah, just replace the relay on the right with one of these if you want it to fade. There was another limitation to the cargo switch though IIRC? Maybe with unlock? @kmorgan3 would know as I think I’ve asked him at least 20 times

Isn’t that what the DSIM offering does? Looks like a pretty good option to me. He also has options for tying into a SwitchPro. Curious why caribe makaira thinks it’s useless.

Because you achieve the same with less. Added relay, fuse n wire to as many lamps you like using the violet as ground trigger. No gadget.
