Got this as part.of a 3 for 20 sanrenmu deal and other than the somewhat off blade shape I am digging the all metal construction blade... its on the small but still functional size ..8cr14mov or 13mov so not super on the edge retention but not bad at all... sanrenmu 7030

It's actually a very nice knife. The blade to handle ratio is impressive as is what Sharp by Designs release. I've got the stone washed drop point in blue carbon I'm thinking of letting go if you are interested. Bought new and unused or carried, just flicked open a few times.

I refuse to own a knife that has a safety on it.

well i guess it’s a good thing you don’t have to. the purpose of that safety obviously went well over your head.

I just never understood the purpose. What possible reason is there to have a safety on a pocket knife?

My buddies auto knife had it’s safety off, and at some point it opened in his pocket while he was fixing a plane before takeoff.. he hopped out of the crew door and when he landed the knife stabbed him in the opposite leg lol. He got stitches and paperwork for having a personal tool on the flightline

I’ve carried auto knives for years and never had this happen and if I was worried about it I would just carry a different kind of knife. It’s no big deal though everyone can carry whatever they want and if you like a safety then more power to you. But like the guy with the leg stab buddy how would that happen? You carry with a pocket clip and the blade opens away from your other leg. It would have to open all the way then make another 90 degree turn to be able to stab you in your other leg or your wiener or something. That or you would have to carry it loose in a giant pocket.
