Hey Connecticut, our backs hurt

I stripped down my entire interior, door panels, carpet, rear wall, ceiling panel, everything, and stuck and rolled it flat to EVERYTHING metal. OMG.....what a difference. Yes, did it add about 175lbs to my truck.......lol.....yes......and each door is heavier to close, but the sound difference in incredible.

 

Did you do a single layer or multiple? And any specific kind of roller I should be looking at?

Starting my winter prep early.

Changed out the air filter today, didn't look bad but I'm not changing it out in the middle of winter when its 5 deg.

Don't know if Matt is doing Fluid Film this year as I haven't seen anything posted.

If not I'll get some cans and do it like i did last year. It's not as through as what Matt does but it's better than not doing anything.

I got out of jury duty twice. Once I told the court I was under a court ruling already for child support and they couldn’t afford me. Second time was I said I was biased against car salesman saying they are scum of the earth. I was home by 10 am each time

 

Single layer, I borrowed my roller from @Blais03 but I have seen them in home depot.....flooring roller.

 

I think I recall Matt saying to reach out, no group this year but by appointment.
Also @jasonct did the woolwaxing. Did a nice job for me, & I thought he'd had extra & was open to do some more truck(s).

Showed up for jury duty once and just before their "selection process", a bomb threat was called in. They made us leave the building but had to come back when an all clear was given. I walked around downtown New Haven all day. Went back to court and told us we could all go home.

 

Did you do this recently? How long did it take, a couple days?

I gotta get going also . I have a half dozen cans of Fluid Film sitting in the garage . Need a good wash and wax also .

 

Our married friends down the road met at jury duty so it worked out for them.

The woman had jury duty once before that they met. She was asked during selection if she felt police officers were more credible that other people. At the time she was dating a cop, which she had already disclosed. She said "not any more" Even the judge laughed.

 

I gotta stop watching you tube. It seems the mod bug has erily crept through the tv into my brain and I wake up with a tracking number and empty wallet!’

I did it in the fall of 2020. In all honesty, I did it over a number of days because of the complexity of it and the fact that I wanted to do it right. I did both of the drivers side doors one day, about 2 hours, then the passenger side doors one day, 2 hours, then did during a Saturday, ripped out all of my seats, the carpet, and the headliner and did it all in one swoop, which took about 8 hours. The hardest part is the taking a part and then putting back together, but laying it down, and rolling it is a breeze, as well as cutting the pieces to fit isn't too bad but can get a little messy because the stuff is like tar paper. Do a truck like a single cab from start to finish, would take me about 4 hours total for the entire truck because of how small the interior is. Double cabs are a little more intense but still doable. It honestly is one of the best mods that I believe anyone can do to their trucks outside of the Hammer hangers because it is a mod that makes THAT much of a difference.

 

How many clips did you break? And do you have a part number or source on replacement clips?

I broke a bunch of the circle white clips taking my back trim off. I haven’t put it back yet and wont until I do the sound deadening, but need to figure out where to get the clips.
