Hey guys, Got some new wheels recently that are 16x8 with -12mm offset. Anyone know the biggest tires I can run on my 2nd gen? Thanks

The real question, how fast do you want your tires to run?

The -12mm offset causes more rub, because the tire swings on a wider arc when steered. With no trimming? Stock size 265/70-16. With fender flare trimming, 265/75-16. With cab mount chop and pinch weld hammered, 285/75-16.

If you don't believe him, the amount you fuck around is directly proportional to the amount you'll find out so you could also just buy tires and send it ;)

The lift isn't going to change the tire size you can fit unless you use taller bump stops because when the suspension cycles you'll still be stuffing the tire into the same size opening.

Buy the biggest tire size you want and cut accordingly. The truck is getting on 16 years old, reaching the age of consent in most jurisdictions.

Absolutely incorrect. There is more than one type of lift.

Fair enough...I assume you're referring to spindle, DB, or body lifts. If it's a suspension lift where the height is from spacers or springs (which likely covers 90% of the lifts that people run) you'll have issues.

This is excellent. Reminds me of the Hot - Crazy matrix. Video below should be taught to all young men.

^I'm running 35s without a cab mount chop. That makes it a unicorn?

Don't forget the pizza cutter crowd. 255/85/16 or 255/80/17 for some

^OP bought wheels already. With that offset, 285/75-16 will rub as bad as 255/85-16.
