    Reserved for Miscellaneous Details

    1. As of Jan.1 2023 Utah requires everyone to take the OHV education course if your using the trails. It's free and takes 30 min or less to complete. Take Course Here. Once you have the certificate print out a copy and keep it in you vehicle just in case we're asked for them.

    2. Communication on the trail will be via GMRS, channel TBD. If you don't have a license there is lots of info on the web how to obtain one from the FCC. License cost is $35 and is good for 10 years. That license covers you and your whole immediate family.

    3. I have reserved Group Campsites and the cost per person will very depending on how many are camping. I will let everyone know what they will owe me once we get settled into camp. The 25-29th will be at Horsetheif Group Campsite A. The 30th will be at Lower Onion Creek Group Campsite C.

    5. Info and more BLM campsites can be found Here

    4. I recommend this book as a trail guide Guide to Moab, UT Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails

    5. Times to meet at the trail heads are listed in post 2. Once there we will air down have a brief drivers meeting and roll out. So probably 30ish minutes at the trail head. If you're not there when we're ready to roll out to the trial we are going to assume you're not joining on that trail with the group.

    6. Will probably be stopping in town every day after the trails for fuel and supplies.

    7. There are places in Moab to shower for a small fee. There is a list of places Here

    8. There are multiple places to fill water containers around Moab for free. Here is one Gearheads Outdoor Store

    9. If camping at Prewitt Reservoir in CO on the 24th you will need to get a State Wildlife Area Day pass which is $10. Here is the Site to get that https://www.cpwshop.com/purchaseprivilege.page?_PageParam.displayCategoryID=251532604 Click on Land And Trails in the left hand box then select the SWA Day pass.

    10. I recommend everyone carry at least a small fire extinguisher and some sort of first aid kit

    11. The trails on Sunday the 26th are in the Sand Flats Recreation area. There is a $5 fee for a day pass to enter this area. Sand Flats Recreation Area Info

This sounds fun. I've got babies at home though so I'm definitely out.

    Subbed for the planning though....

Can't commit to anything now, but subbed. I want to imagine that I'll have new suspension and more armor on the truck a year from now. I know a stock truck can have some fun there, but if I'm going to Utah I want to be equipped to send it!

Doesn't matter if you have the other mods done. Out of the trails I listed probably Top Of The World is the only one I wouldn't recommend a stock truck to do.

If you always wait to get some mods done before doing trails you'll never end up going. Because there's always the next mod you'll wait for. It's never ending lol.

I’m a definite “probably not gonna happen”, but will follow the thread anyway!

Wise words. If you have the time, money, and desire to go, once you are there you can make choices as to what you wanna risk or not based on trail conditions. Even if you don't do a particular trail, you still went!

Mario, the guy that came along on the last pipeline trip in the 4runner, went out to do some trails in colorado. He said they were nothing like what we did that weekend (with the trails he did in Colorado being less demanding on the vehicle than what we did on the pipeline).

Subbed to keep an eye on this. Will definitely have serious consideration to join in assuming life doesn't throw any curveballs. I love Moab/Arches and it's been too long since my last trip.

Suggestion to help us plan: Hyperlink the different trails/obstacles listed in first post to websites giving description/photos of that track. Should help people decide if they are up for it. Might even be TacomaWorld trip reports from other users too.

I watched some YouTube videos with some Jeeps doing the Top of the World trail. Didn't look too bad, locker would be nice. Do some rock stacking on some of bigger steps.
Gotta do some more video watching.

Would love it if you could join next year!

I added some links from the adventure built YouTube channel on the trails I had listed.

Also we can add trails on recommendations as this tread moves along.

This is something I definitely want to do... Eventually. Unfortunately, we don't get much PTO in the trades, so it's hard to plan anything like this. I'm probably burning all of mine up in Florida right away next year.

I love how people talk about doing Hell's Revenge in stock trucks, and the caption on the video in the link is "Almost rolled my..."

If you can get past the 1st obstacle you're gold. Locker is over rated. :crapstorm: A-Trac rocks. Full armor is mandatory for T-O-W.

Oh, hell. I'm unemployed. I guess I'll join the fun next year.

EDIT: I got there once. My 4R will never see T-O-W again. The 1st obstacle is sketchy.

If you want to really test your rig, Lockhart Basin is a huge challenge. We were planning to do Lockhart Canyon but took a wrong turn. Ended up spending the night in the 4R, 30 miles from pavement. My skids and sliders will never be the same. We were in way, way over our heads.
