While trying to remove the 3rd brake light, a dropped a 10mm deep socket up in the frame under the headliner. I can just barely touch the socket. Any tips on how to fish it out?

I HATE touching the 3rd brake light.
That seal is notorious for leaking. Even worse on the 3rd Gen.
If I ever have to remove mine, it’s getting a new seal, and I might even add some clear sealant just “in case”.

I couldn't get mine changed at the dealer because I have a cap on the back. I took it upon myself to just do the work. I put copious amounts of silicone around it. If I ever need to change it, I'll be a little upset but not nearly as upset as I'd be if it leaked.

I got the socket out. I ended up buying another 10mm deep socket. Once the light was off, the socket was right there.

In the future, you might be able to put masking tape over the end of a pencil with the sticky side out. Stick that to the socket.
