Tacoma Lifestyle Review

I have purchased a few things from this website with no issues. Waiting for weeks on products I ordered wasn’t a problem because the website says that due to high demand, expect 3 week lead time.

I bought a matte black bumper for my 2021 TRD off road Tacoma. According to the website matte black is the color to choose on a black trim Tacoma. So I purchased the rear bumpers and after comparing the product to the portions of my truck, I need textured black instead.

Not worrying I emailed the company through the website as well as sales@tacomalifestyle.com. Letting them know that I’d just like to exchange the item. Two days later I receive an email reply,
“I'll relay that to Bumpershellz to see if we can get that exchanged for you!

-Truman”

The website alleges “hassle free” return/exchange. It also says,” Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.” I’m not sure how a customer needing to email sales@tacomalifestyle.com to initiate a return is less of a hassle, then the company just simply including the return label in the packaging. Nor is it possible to stay within the 30 day purchase return/exchange time frame, as it takes them weeks to ship products, and weeks to approve or deny a return/exchange.

I have emailed them again, left a review on their main website (which I’ll be shocked if they post since it is a negative review) and see if I get any response.

All in all don’t purchase any items from this website because if you run into any issues good luck getting a hold of them.

Im sure its 30 days from when you actually receive the item. Not from when you made the payment. And then you have 30 days to start the return process. If you already started it and it goes over that 30 (maybe waiting on a 3rd party or for return labels), you should still be good.

Ive never dealt with them, but they seem to have a good reputation. They emailed you back and let you know they are working on it...what else do you want?

 

I have a handful of items from them. Mostly LED interior lighting. Zero issues. I think they are Utah based. (Irrelevant comment)

 

I believe that this should be the case. Their website is a bit confusing though. It does say “purchase”.

 

Why would they include a return shipping label in the box? That would be a lot of wasted money and unused shipping.

 

Not really, no. If you have an account with the shipping company, they only charge you IF you use the return shipping label.

 

I guess, but I’ve still never ever seen a company do that.

 

It’s fairly common if they offer a free return policy, REI I believe always does this. I’m sure larger companies do it all the time.

The issue is their website says, “Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.”

It doesn’t say “from the day you receive your item.” So hopefully it’s just worded poorly on the website, because my 30 days has elapsed.

To answer your comment “what else do you want.” Clarification of the websites policy as to when the 30 days begins, you and I understood it differently. Also follow up from TacomaLifestyle on Bumpershellz response, since it’s almost been two weeks from the original email.

You said in the OP, they emailed you back 2 days later. Now its 2 weeks? Im not following.
Either way, I can tell that youre frustrated, but at least give them a chance to make it right before you go bashing them.

I won't buy anything from Tacoma Lifestyle and I don't recommend them.

1. I bought some meso v5 turn signals from Tacoma Lifestyle last December. Tacoma Lifestyle took 3.5 weeks to ship them and they arrived with the wires cut/severed. I contacted them about a return and they gave me the complete run around and tried to get me to exchange and they'd throw in some of their free stickers. Uh, nope. I wasn't going to wait over a month. I sent them back with their prepaid label and then they never issued a credit/refund stating I never returned the merchandise. Liars.

I had to contact my credit card company and file a dispute and give them a copy of the UPS return label that showed tacoma lifestyle signed for them. Such bullshit.

This all happened right as they became a vendor on this website.

2. About a year later I reluctantly order their third brake light. It was one of the limited options available for leaking third brake lights at the time and as it turns out their third brake isn't waterproof at all unless you glop silicone all around it. The gasket on the back of the light doesn't do squat. Even worse, the Toyota recall trim gasket for the third brake light is too big for the tacoma lifestyle lamp.

I emailed them about the problems and they all they said was "thanks, we'll take that into consideration." See below...

By the way you can buy the exact same third brake light from Amazon for a fraction of the cost.

Weird I actually got 2 things in the mail yesterday from there and have 2 more things coming I did order something wrong color but figured it out before they shipped. I emailed sales and got a reply in an hr or so. I havent bought anything big from there but to me so far so good.

 

Could have ordered directly from the company that makes them.
