Hey everyone, it's about time to change my differential oils and I wanted to see if 75w90 full synthetic is good to use for both the front and rear differentials especially since I have the ECGS bushing installed for the drivers side needle bearing.

    Thanks for your help!

I have EGCS bushing in mine. They recommend Lucas 85W-140. Bottle looks like this.D86C6FE1-0F93-43E9-A6A6-8C3B5A4BE4EC.jpg

Don’t use 140 it’s too thick for stock diffs. It will increase likelyhood of seals popping.

The bushing doesn’t change anything, just use a quality gl5 oil.

    typically 75w90.

Yes. Use your favorite 75W-90 in the rear diff and in the transfer case. So a little extra work because of the unique oil in the front diff. All are easy to change. I just refreshed the fluid in all 3 on my 2nd gen.

edit - I’ve had no seal issues in the front. Simply sharing what EGCS advised me to use. I’m happy with their recommendation.

Sweet, thank you for the help. Makes it a whole lot easier being able to ask others that have experience vs what a manual or website says.

Anyone switch to conventional oil? My conversation with ecgs over the phone earlier suggested that the oil being conventional was more important then it being 140w

I use 85-140 in front and rear and have for the past 40,000. No issues. I have regeared to 4.88. Mileage is the same with heavier weight oil.
