    Swapped them out today for the
    $56 ACT976 Brake Pad Set, GREY
    ACT976's. I only ran the TRD pads for about 1500 miles and broke them in properly on new OEM rotors. Anyone know if swapping to ceramics on the same rotors will pose any issues?

    Okay so I'm in the market for new rotors and pads. As expected, there's a lot of contradictory information on the forums, specifically regarding pad material and rotor wear. I've read some comments that say "ceramic pads tend to be rough on rotors, which may cause warping." Then I've read comments that have said "metallic pads are rough on rotors, which may cause warping."

    Assuming all braking habits are equal, with most braking being mild to medium pressure, wherein lies the truth? All I know for sure is my taco with 46+k miles and stock/factory brake kit on it has been experiencing shuddering and vibration when braking at speeds above 40mph for a couple years now. Also, on the topic of the TRD brake pads (

    PTR09-89111), I've heard it mentioned that these are softer than stock. Wouldn't this equate to more braking power/less noise/more dust/less rotor wear?
