I designed these rock light mounts to position my rock lights at the perfect location in front and behind the front wheels on my 2022 Tacoma. They use existing factory holes so no drilling is required. The front mount assumes you have an aftermarket front bumper.

This set includes 4 mounts for in front and behind the front wheels plus two mounts for in front of the rear wheels.

These mounts were designed to work perfectly with MICTUNING C2 Curved White LED Rock Lights

    OR

    Baja Designs Rock Lights.

But they could be drilled to mount any aftermarket rock light of similar size. If you want me to print a set with no holes for the MICTUNNING C2 Rock Lights let me know.

This mount fits existing holes in front of the front wheels.

The mounts for the rock lights around the rear wheels are really easy to make, so I don't sell them.

I used a Sampson Strong tie for behind the rear wheels:

This mount uses existing holes in the body.

I print the front wheel mounts to order out of PETG plastic.

    In summary

    • This set includes 2 mounts for in front and behind the front wheels ONLY.
    • The mounts for behind the rear wheels are easy to make yourself.
And if you don't want to make your own wire harness you can purchase one from
    DSI Solutions

I've added mounts for the position in front of the rear tires.

I've started design for for the mounts behind the rear tires. But right now, the best option is to drill Simpson Strong-Tie HL33-R 7-Gauge 3 in x 3 in Heavy Angle for that position.

Also in design are mounts for the latest Mictuning LED RGB lights with wireless controls.

Today I made more progress on the rock light mount for in front of the rear wheels. Two options:
1: For Tacomas without rock sliders:
A mount that fits flush to the body
    upload_2022-12-9_17-46-8.jpg
    upload_2022-12-9_17-46-54.jpg

2: For Tacomas with rock sliders
    A mount that extends lower.
    upload_2022-12-9_17-49-29.jpg

    upload_2022-12-9_17-50-4.jpg

The difference is the shadow cast by the rock sliders with Option 1 and the light that shines on the slider itself.
    upload_2022-12-9_17-51-3.jpg
    vs Option 2
    upload_2022-12-9_17-51-26.jpg

My goal was to match the coverage from the front rock light, so I'm pretty satisfied with the effort.

Sweet. If you don't mind me asking, how are you getting the power to the lights from the cabin? Did you just drill through the floorboards? I want to put in some lights, and I'm wondering if there's a grommet somewhere convenient, or if I have to go into the engine bay first, down the fire-wall, then all the way under.

I'm not powering the lights directly though the switch. That can be done if you pay careful attention to the amperage rating of the switch and load from the lights. But generally, it is better to use a relay. The switch controls the relay and the relay powers the lights. I have a fuse/relay box in my engine bay so I just needed to run wires from the engine bay to the cab. There's a large grommet in the firewall that can be used for this purpose. This video shows you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-OgMejJ-EZs. Also, just so you know, there is a grommet though the floor under the driver's side floormat. I used that hole to run wires to the bed of my Taco where I installed a separate fuse box in the taillight.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm aware of the grommet in the firewall. I'm passing the forward-facing camera I installed in the grill through there.
Yes, thanks! I wanted to know where that grommet is under the floor mat. Does that come up easily? What holds that down, some sticky spray on stuff? :drunk:
So yes, another mod I'm putting in is footwell lighting using an Oznium fade controller. The controller is the source of 12V for the LEDs. I'm not putting much load on the trigger coming from the BCM.

I'd also like to use the same technique to run "courtesy" or "puddle" rock lights like you did, and have them shine down from under the truck, yes, mounted using existing locations for the runners (I have none) but only for the front passengers. So when approaching the truck with the FOB, remotely unlocking the truck, opening the doors, they will illuminate with the overhead cabin light.
Passengers in the rear? They'd better be able to look out for road debris, curbs, puddles, slippery snow/ice, irregular ground, etc on their own. :duel:

The grommet under the driver's side floor mat wasn't in use on my Taco. I just cut two slits at right angles to run wires through it. You can see it if you remove the plastic trim at the bottom of the door and pull back the carpet and insulation. You'll need to remove the side panel where the cab fuses are located also - to free up the carpet.

@switch thanks... just to situate me if you don't mind, about how far to the rear of the vehicle from the point where the side panel meets the door sill trim, and how far into the cabin from the middle of the sill trim would you estimate roughly the grommet is located?

Perfect. Exactly what I needed. I didn't think it would be that conveniently located to be honest.
Did you use a loom to encase the wiring once your wiring when through the grommet on the underside of the vehicle to protect it, or did you just wire and zip-tie as you went along?
Sorry for the many questions, but I'm learning a lot based on what you have done.
FWIW: I plan to use the following if I place illumination under the vehicle, perhaps one or two per side:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CXNPRNW?smid=A29D5JAUP1YACR&th=1
I didn't want to try to make it look like the vehicle was levitating or otherwise a UFO.

The Oznium fader module I'm using supports a 2A draw, so I thought it might easily support the footwell illumination, and the "puddle" light illumination.

My wire harness uses split conduit and wire harness tape.

@switch Are you able to add 2 more to this set of 4 to make it a set of 6?? I'm looking to use them with Baja Designs rock lights. I will send a PM if needed with more details
